Probably the game of the opening week in the NBA so far, the Phoenix Suns toiled down hard to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers. With Steve Ballmer’s $2 billion Intuit Dome in full display, he didn’t relish an opening-day victory. Oh yes, and KD came alive! Kevin Durant rose to the occasion in the 4th quarter when the Suns cut down the 99-90 deficit to complete the victory in OT. Although Ballmer’s ‘Wall’ in the stands stole the headlines, Durant and Co. ran away to the locker rooms with the triumph. Yet, one might say that actor Lamorne Morris didn’t have the perfect night. Or did he?
KD politely turned the winner of the Primetime Emmy award when he asked for the Slim Reaper’s jersey after the game. Cameras caught the attention of the conversation by the duo with Durant, apparently talking about his mic.
After the game, it’s common to see players exchanging jerseys. It’s either for the clicks or a traditional norm or someone really has a jersey collection at home like NBA superfan, Brad Parker. “I’m very lucky that my parents live only 40 minutes away on Long Island. I have over 200 jerseys there. It’s impossible to keep them all here,” said Parker, nearing 300 jerseys in his collection.

In the exchange, Durant stated, “Gotta keep this one, babe. Got a mic in there,” to Lamorne Morris’ humble request. Sadly for Lamorne Morris, next time we guess!

Moreover, no rule states you can’t exchange a jersey with a mic on. To put things into perspective, every NBA player has jersey pouches for the player’s mic transmitter. The microphone wire runs along the side of the jersey, positioning the mic just beneath the player’s chin. We get the audio chats of the players on the court and that’s how we probably caught LeBron James talking to his son, Bronny, ahead of his debut.
What’s your perspective on:
Did KD's mic save the day, or was it just another excuse to keep his jersey?

Likewise, sometimes it’s just tough to remove jerseys with all that wire wrapped around you. Go figure. Hopefully, Morris gets a jersey from Kevin Durant in the distant future. In the meantime, an interesting story springs to our minds, with a certain Boston Celtics icon getting mic’d up during an All-Star game. Imagine, what’s the use if you can’t get any content? Sometimes things take a U-turn!
Kevin Durant probably wants his mic after Kevin Garnett’s All-Star game mic fiasco!
In an episode of Podcast P with Paul George, the forward reminisced about a story where KG had a mic up his jersey. In a fit of curiosity to understand what Kevin Garnett says, the NBA authorities mic’d up him but couldn’t use the audio with all the curse words. Paul George described, “He was just cussin’, saying everything, f-this, B, f**k you. He was just going off right. And he was like, I can’t use none of that s**t, huh?”

There you go. That’s one problem being mic’d up. However, it’s normal for players to cuss in a game as that automatically comes out of passion. Sometimes, you just can’t control your emotions. Kevin Durant, though, would probably want to get into the locker room and explore his audio clips to edit stuff up.
After that, these officials release audio notes that interest the basketball fraternity. And surely, in the Suns’ opening game, they must have had several critical audio points, especially in the 4th quarter.

Significantly, Durant had it challenging in the game against the Clippers. With Devin Booker fouled out with 1:27 remaining, it was up to KD and the boys to rally their team back into the game. After their comeback in the 4th quarter, the Clippers’ James Harden had a chance to tie the game. Nevertheless, he missed his second free throw, and the game down the drain for Ballmer’s side. Please note – this victory would mean so much for a franchise looking to win their first NBA title.
At the end of the game, free-throw shooting made the difference. The Suns player shot well while Harden missed a critical one. Furthermore, the Phoenix Suns and Kevin Durant will now face the Los Angeles Lakers in an interesting match-up between King James and the Slim Reaper. To sum up, we can’t wait for the game and see if Durant gets mic’d up again. Let’s keep those audio notes coming!
