It is that time of the year! Are you ready for The Steph Era? NBA 2K25 is all set to release for fans who pre-ordered the game, for exclusive access beforehand. Pre-ordering 2K25 gave a certain bunch the privilege of witnessing the fun two days before the official release. Kevin Durant and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander were among such gamers, who got an early glimpse of Jayson Tatum, A’ja Wilson, and Vince Carter on the main cover, while most of the fans waited for the drop on Thursday.
KD and Shai recently shared a glimpse of their early access to the game. The Slim Reaper sent a huge shoutout to Ronnie 2K with his Instagram story captioned, “Its time…my dog @ronnie2k got me locked in early.” On the other hand, SGA also enjoyed the early access, showing off his recently installed 2K25 on his PS5 and also tagged Ronnie 2K and NBA2K. Now, as excited as the two are playing the game, fans have been upset over Anthony Edwards’ face renders.
Initially, ANT’s face wasn’t exactly recognizable in NBA 2K25. It’s been quite a common yet annoying thing about video games in the past, hasn’t it? However, the developers seemed to have run an update with improvements. Still, there hasn’t been much progress on his ‘real-life’ resemblance. The rendered character does seem better than last time, but fans are still upset over what might be a blunder. But things got interesting when fans realized that ANT reportedly did not go for a face scan!

Considering the same thing, the developers did a pretty good job getting his face just right, even though it isn’t as wonderfully rendered as other players’ faces. But apart from that, 2K25 has improved in a lot of aspects, which will completely change the gaming experience for long-time fans.
You can pull off smoother crossovers with Kevin Durant in NBA 2k25!
We’ve seen how lethal of a crossover KD has in his bag. This time around, 2K really seems to have invested more of their efforts in improving the movement. This includes dribble moves, passing, smoother shooting forms, realistic layups, and much more. Another key improvement has been the dribble engine update. These now vary from player to player depending upon their style of play. With KD, a double crossover to a pull jump shot seems smoother and cleaner, as compared to the older version, bringing in the real deal.
On the other hand, the Slim Reaper is the 9th highest-rated player this year with a 94 overall rating. SGA received a 3-point boost, standing as the 4th highest-rated player with a 96 overall rating. The other toppers in 2k25 include Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, and of course, the MVP Nikola Jokic with each having a rating of 97 overall. The biggest star names in LeBron James and Steph Curry, both have been handed a solid 95, which is -1 from the previous edition.
