The audience always looks for a sneak peek into the lives of their favorite stars. It may be the Hollywood stars, politicians, or athletes. And of course, our favorite NBA stars and their lives are equally intriguing to the fans. This is why when Netflix announced and released Starting 5, it was an immediate blockbuster among the ardent fans of the sport. Following the success of the sports documentary, the platform has announced a second edition. This time, filmmakers will capture Kevin Durant‘s life behind the scenes as one of the stars.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Tuesday: “Cast for season two of Netflix’s NBA documentary series Starting 5: Kevin Durant, James Harden, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jaylen Brown, Tyrese Haliburton.” Well, well, yet another star-studded 10 episodes in the making! KD seems to be following LeBron James‘ path toward multi-billion dollar success off the court.

So, keeping aside his previous questionable opinions on having a camera follow him throughout the season, the Slim Reaper considered being on the show. He isn’t someone who enjoys putting his life before the world quite often. So this is a big step for Kevin Durant as well. The star [read: legend] of the court’s life beyond the hardwood floor will be out and about and the fans will love it for sure.

KD did consider appearing in Starting 5, Season 1 alongside Bron, Jayson Tatum, Ant-Man, Domantas Sabonis, and Jimmy Butler. But, picking a rather shy stance, the 2x Finals MVP thought the concept didn’t appeal to this liking. “I don’t know how much fun that would be,” he said. The idea of a camera following him everywhere wasn’t great back then. “I don’t know if that’s for me or not. You know what I mean? I like this. This is my ‘Starting 5’ right here,” the Suns forward relayed. Also, there are contractual reasons why KD might not be able to participate in the Netflix series. But all this seems like a distant past now.

The 14x NBA All-Star has finally agreed to star in the second season of Starting 5. He will be joined by Tyrese Haliburton, James Harden, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Jaylen Brown for the same. Maybe it was truly LeBron James’ influence that got the 2x champ to sign up for this new task. Whatever the reason, a dive into Kevin Durant’s life would be quite interesting.

There is no doubt that KD is one of the most decorated players to ever be in the NBA. So, getting to know the man beyond the court would be a treasure trove of secrets for the fans. Durant continues to influence the game in his lethal way to this day, thus his appearance in a sports documentary would be an asset for the next generation of stars to study closely and understand the game in a better way.
