Will LeBron James make one last Olympic run in LA? What do you think?

Bona fide superstars unite to represent Team USA in a long stretch to get that ‘Gold’ home. Yes, we are talking about none other than LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and other champions. Yesterday, in a glorious feat against Team Canada, the team proved their mettle in the first of 5 exhibit games before the Olympics. Be it Curry’s poses, his alley-oops to King James, or seeing LeBron amp up Curry’s spirits, it was endearing.

But the names we speak of, are all aging. Bron will soon be 40. Curry too is inching closer to retirement and so is Durant. Even if we don’t accept it, the end of an era is right around the horizon. There will be a time when these stars will stop shining in the NBA skies. But that doesn’t seem to concern Durant for some reason.

Durant feels that this is not how they’ll all exit the hardwood floors. This isn’t a farewell tour and their versatility is here to stay. But for how many more years? Well, Durant has that covered for you!

“I mean, these guys are still playing at elite level, you know. Like Bron could play four or five more. It might be here in 28′ in LA, you know. Steph still playing great ball, I’m doing alright too. So I don’t want to look at it that way. I think we still got some good ball in the tank.”, said Durant.

No matter how much love fans shower on the legends representing the nation, it’s a tough and rather precarious pill to swallow that their retirement might soon come. But if Durant is to be believed, they still have a lot of “gas” left in their “tanks”. Maybe, they’re here to stay?

And it definitely will be something to see them, especially Bron, play another four seasons. In fact, as KD mentioned, James might be available for a call from USAB during the 2028 Olympics. However, as strong of a belief KD has in James, the King has already hinted at a possible last NBA contract.

Well, he is set to play for another two years, which should be taken into consideration. Besides, he’ll be playing alongside his son and sharing insights with his friend and head coach, JJ Redick. There is a lot to look forward to for the next two seasons. On the other hand, if things go just right, then yes, James could continue to pour buckets while nearing 42.

For those who want to see him in action in the 2028 Olympics, it could still be a thing if James calls it a career beforehand. Pau Gasol represented Spain in the Tokyo Olympics a year after he hung his Milwaukee jersey. We could see the same with James. As of now, it is clear that this won’t exactly be a farewell tour for Steph, KD, and Bron. However, it’s tough to say that these three will share the ball again in the future.

Kevin Durant knows he’s part of the big three

There are a lot of great players who have impacted the game in an influential way. Actively, Steph, James, and KD are the only veterans who have been able to perform at an elite level despite their ages. Are they the best three players in the league? Maybe not. But talking about preferred players in terms of experience, accolades, and versatility, still dominating in their areas, this trio can’t be beaten.

Kevin Durant, the two-time champ, a former MVP, and is one of the most lethal scorers in history. Curry is the all-time leader in three-pointers made, a four-time champion, and has endless accolades. King James is the all-time scoring leader, and also a four-time champ with a never-ending list of records. These three individuals are the big three belonging to the same era, and teaming up for the Olympics is history in the making.
