Kevin Durant backs Drake—Is Steph Curry's campaign against the diss track just sour grapes?

Friends for over a decade, it would seem like external factors haven’t affected Kevin Durant and Drake’s relationship. With the entire world chiming in with their opinions about the highly publicized rap battle between Drizzy and Kendrick Lamar, the Slim Reaper stood strong, going as far as giving an apt answer to a fan on X. And now, we have further proof that his love for the Canadian phenom hasn’t decreased in the slightest.

Basketball analyst and a former member of the popular “Fab Five” of the University of Michigan, Jalen Rose caught up with Team USA pals, Anthony Edwards and Kevin Durant for a little tête-à-tête. Turning to Ant-Man, Rose had just one question – what was the playlist in the locker room?

Edwards, with not as much as a ‘how do you do,’ immediately replied, “Man, KD only wanna listen to Drake. I was with him the whole time and I was listening to nobody but Drake,” he said, as the whole room lit up with laughter.

Drake often shouts out the Slim Reaper in his tracks and the 2x champion, for his part, acknowledges in interviews with credits along the lines of this: “When your favorite rapper puts your name in a song, it makes you feel like you’ve made it.” The most notable appearance, perhaps, was when ‘Champagne Papi’ dropped in for Kevin Durant’s 25th birthday in 2013. Just a year later, the 14x All-Star returned the favor, and he attended the OVO Festival in Toronto.

Suffice it to say, Drake and Kevin Durant seem to have their priorities in order, no matter what happens on the outside.

While not a huge fan or a close friend, even, it seems like Team USA’s biggest superstar might have taken an unpopular stance on the Kendrick Lamar-Drake beef, unknowingly. However, you know how people keep receipts on social media these days, don’t you?

Have an interesting take?

Steph Curry is no Kevin Durant, but he certainly was fed up with K.Dot’s Drake diss track

In a hilarious moment captured after Team USA’s 105-79 exhibition win over Serbia in Abu Dhabi, the DJ hit none other than the Mustard-produced banger, ‘Not Like Us.’ The popular unofficial anthem of America, ‘Not Like Us’ had practically the entire world moving in tune. Not Stephen Curry, though.

Given how there’s no escape in the States, the 4x champion must have thought he would find solace in the Middle East. Tough luck! But Curry had enough, it seems. In a humorous tone, the ‘Chef’ said to LeBron James, “Damn with this song. It’s not the only song in America.” The ‘King’, for his part, was a huge fan of the diss track and did not seem to mind it.

In fact, Bron was enjoying the music and could be heard saying, “I love it,” amidst the noise. Needless to say, Steph’s comments took on a whole different meaning. While he never came out and admitted publicly that he supported Drake, many fans found this enough evidence to claim that the ‘Bay Area God’ had made his stance clear.

Of course, as is the case with social media blowouts, this soon made way for more interesting news and moments. But there’s little doubt that Drake loyalists will be keeping receipts.
