Kevin Durant has shared a long-running friendship with Drake. From giving out a shoutout to the artist after KD was named the MVP of the 2012 All-Star Game to the world-famous rapper saying, “Shoutout to KD, we relate, we get the same attention” in his ‘Weston Road Flows’ track, the duo have built a rapport over the years based on mutual respect and admiration. The Suns vet is looking to keep the same alive during this off-season, as suggested by his recent public spotting.

A few hours ago, a fan account on X highlighted Kevin Durant hanging out at Drake’s Toronto house named ‘The Embassy’. The 6-foot-11 athlete was vibing with a drink in his hand as Tory Lanez’s ‘Broke In A Minute’ played in the background. Drake highlighted Durant’s presence on his Instagram story as well, as the duo sat across from each other with a hookah in the rapper’s hand.

Kevin Durant flew 2,213 miles, from Phoenix, all the way to Toronto, to reunite with his friend days after he and several other members of the NBA fraternity attended Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Pop Out’ concert. Drake and Lamar have been in a highly publicized feud for the last decade. However, the same intensified recently after Lamar started dropping back-to-back ‘diss tracks’.

Therefore, there was certainly an amount of surprise amongst fans after Kevin Durant arrived at Lamar’s concert alongside Russell Westbrook, DeMar DeRozan, LeBron James, and James Harden! The duo of Bron and Westbrook were clearly captured enjoying the 37-year-old’s tracks, including the recent ‘Not Like Us’ in which Kendrick made explicit references to the allegations placed on Drake.

While Kevin Durant and 16,000 others may have been at the concert less than two weeks ago to ‘embarrass’ Drake, KD’s loyalty to his old friendship was on showcase for all the doubters to witness while celebrating Canada Day with a bunch of fireworks. On the other hand, the rapper does not seem to hold any resentment over the fact that KD chose to attend a Kendrick Lamar concert.

Kevin Durant hasn’t been silent about the Drake-Kendrick Lamar rivalry

Looking at both the above-mentioned instances, one would interpret that Kevin Durant is a neutral entity in the Drake-Kendrick Lamar feud. However, there may have been an instance when the 35-year-old chose to side with the ‘Controlla’ artist. Back in March, the seeds of escalation were starting to sprout between the rappers. Drake took to Instagram to respond, after Lamar released his ‘Like That’ track, which had the rapper compare the long-running rivalry with the one shared between Prince and Michael Jackson.

With a series of photos of him posing for the camera, Drake attached a caption alongside the post that read “They rather go to war with me than admit they are their own worst enemy”. Both the post and the remark caught the attention of Durant, who took to the comments section to write “Real sh*t”. Since fans were quite aware of the tensions rising between the two artists, it was no secret as to who Drake may have been referring to via his caption.

With Kevin Durant sending out his support of the same, the NBA player knowingly or unknowingly picked a side in the feud.

It’s a good thing that Kendrick Lamar hasn’t yet released a diss track about KD!
