There is nothing much to say except for ‘disappointing’ in tonight’s Warriors vs Kings matchup. Of course, it was in no way bad for the Kings, as they maintained the upper hand and finished a dominant 118-94 tonight. But it was quite a difficult night for Klay Thompson. And when we say difficult, it doesn’t probably even cover half of it. The veteran guard had been struggling throughout the year, but he showcased a remarkable turnaround closer to the end of the season.
Steve Kerr’s idea of relegating him to the Sixth Man role worked wonders for the team. And for the time being, the Dubs looked like the dynasty they were when Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay joined hands to change the franchise’s destiny. But it seemed like whatever was bothering Thompson came back in full force tonight. Unfortunately, it just had to be on a crucial night that determined their playoff aspirations.
But social media isn’t going to let go of this easily. Particularly, given that Keon Ellis was on the other side. The young guard was a menace throughout the game for Curry. Right now, though, what’s making its rounds on the internet is none other than a tweet from the said Ellis in 2015.

“Klay Thompson got 5 points #sorry,” he had tweeted, referring to the lowest points he scored during the NBA Finals game against the Cavaliers on June 16, 2015. Of course, now he’s set a new record with zero points in 32 minutes on April 16, 2024 vs the Kings. With tonight’s 118-94 loss, the Dubs said goodbye to their playoff hopes.

Suffice it to say that this will affect his free agency and continued stay in the franchise drastically. Of course, there is always the option to accept a lesser deal than what he is eligible for. But how it will all play out in the coming months is something we will have to wait and see. But for now, X users are having a blast roasting Klay Thompson.

As soon as Ellis’ nine-year-old post grabbed attention, X users and fans wasted no time getting on the bandwagon. One user commented, “Keon Ellis was planning for this game all along.”
Another one didn’t mince any word as he said, “Cooked that bum.”
This next fan seemed to be in awe of the Kings guard’s attention to detail. “There’s no way you been cooking him on n off the court for a decade“

And finally, this guy found the humor in Keon Ellis’ foresight. “Bro smelt the disasterclass 9 yrs ago lmaoo”
However you look at it, tonight was the worst of Klay Thompson’s career. But like Green said, the Warriors will do right by him. No matter what others say, this man was the cornerstone of a Warriors team that was down in the dumps. His contributions cannot be dismissed easily.
