The Los Angeles Clippers looked like they were going to lose to the Rockets tonight. But in a stunning comeback, Kawhi Leonard and Co. took home the win. Houston had taken a 20-point lead in the second quarter and LA fought tooth and nail to close the deficit and finish stronger.
Talking to the press post-game, Leonard said of the win, “We came out very slow pace with no urgency and we got in the huddle and said let’s pick up our energy.”

Leonard finished with a game-high 28 points while dishing out seven assists and grabbing six rebounds. And the entire team rallied to get the better of the Rockets. Needless to say, Houston has emerged as a threat this season. With the acquisition of veterans Dillon Brooks and Fred VanVleet, rookie Cam Whitmore making his case, and Alperen Sengun asserting his dominance, the ‘Bayou City’ means business.
Yet, with less than three minutes remaining in the second half, the Clippers went on a hot streak.

Norman Powell and Paul George started LA’s dominance with triples and the team used an 8-1 run to give them their first lead (111-109). Right after that, “The Klaw” hit a three-pointer after the Rockets missed a shot. And the Clippers find themselves at 114 with two minutes left for halftime.
Going into the second half, it was a tight contest. A Brooks basket early in the fourth quarter saw Houston lead by 10. Not for long, though. LA made use of a 9-4 run and got back on top again, courtesy of James Harden, who led in that stretch. Although the Clippers came off victorious, the Rockets were by no means behind.

Sengun had a big night. He finished the night with 23 points, a season-high 19 rebounds, and his fourth career-triple double, with 14 assists. Jabari Smith Jr. contributed 19 points while Whitmore had 17. VanVleet and Jalen Green both had 15 points and although the former got a technical for arguing a foul, he also had eight assists, and four rebounds to cap the night.
On the Clippers side, George and Harden landed 21 points while Terence Mann had 15 points for the team. Mason Plumlee had a team-high 11 rebounds as he notched eight points.
