Can the Timberwolves survive the internal drama between KAT and Edwards while dealing with legal issues?

Amid the legal battle between the Timberwolves’ minority stake holders baseball legend Alex Rodriguez and entrepreneur Marc Lore, and current owner Glen Taylor, the media’s been attempting to stir up beef between Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards. But KAT put the issue to rest by calling out the media out for creating drama between him and his teammate on the Podcast P with Paul George.

“For me, I love seeing Ant (Edwards). I feel its weird when media try to make it seem like I don’t want Ant to succeed, I am the biggest Ant cheerleader, like the biggest fan,” KAT said. “I wanna see him win, I wanna see him grow to be the face of the NBA. I wanna see him do things that has never been done in the NBA.”

“I keep trying to see this media, like people try to put me and Ant against each other, and we just wanna see each other win like, big bro, lil bro. We just wanna see each other win,” Towns added. He also said that he gets pumped when he sees Ant in commercials, and he’s more excited for Ant’s success than his own. Towns was clearly implying that there’s no rivalry between them.

Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns have been playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves together for four years, since Edwards joined as first overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. They have been the top players on the team, with Edwards (23) already a superstar. He was a big reason the Timberwolves made it to the Western Conference Finals, even though they fell short against the Dallas Mavericks.

With Karl-Anthony Towns putting that issue to rest, let’s dive into the legal battle between the Timberwolves’ stakeholders.

“We’re not going to let go” – Will the Timberwolves have new owners?

Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore had been grinding for three years to secure a majority stake and become the main owners of the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, their efforts hit a snag when current owner Glen Taylor announced that the team was off the market for them. Despite this setback, Rodriguez and Lore didn’t back down. They proposed a new deal: if they lost the fight for the team, they’d cover all the legal fees incurred from the start. Their lawyers proposed this idea, but Taylor’s lawyers rejected it, insisting on sticking with the original agreement.

Rodriguez and Lore had already paid the last $600 million of the $1.5 billion deal and requested an additional 90 days to finalize everything. Rgardless, Taylor has decided he no longer wanted to do business with them. Nevertheless, the two are determined to make the team theirs.

“We’re going to be the owners of the Minnesota Timberwolves,” said Marc Lore during an interview with Sportico. “It’s just a matter of time, and how much pain Glen wants to put the fans, the players, the town and community through. It’s his choice. It didn’t have to be this way.”

“We can be in this (fight) for five years, 10 years, whatever” said the former New York Yankees player. “We’re not going to let go.”

Alex Rodriguez and Glen Taylor have decided not to pursue their legal dispute in court. Instead, they vowed to resolve it through arbitration, a process where an impartial third party will make a decision. With that about to get underway, we’ll have to wait and see who’s gonna come out on top in this showdown. What do you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
