Karl-Anthony Towns may have left Minnesota, but the traumatic remarks from his Timberwolves days still seem to haunt him. Can’t get your head wrapped around it? Okay, let’s try to give you a hint! Remember when the 7-footer proudly claimed he was making 1,500 shots a day? That became quite the running joke during the 2024 playoffs, with the TNT crew roasting him endlessly. Moreover, the panel’s excessive verbal attack on Rudy Gobert led to the Timberwolves boycotting any post-game interview with the platform. Shannon Sharpe recently made KAT revisit those memories during their encounter and the former Wolves star revealed how all these things made Anthony Edwards feel.
On the Club Shay Shay podcast, the NFL star reminded KAT of Draymond Green‘s comment pointing out that KAT was lying about his insane shot practice routine. Responding to that, the Dominican said, “I know the work I put in, so I don’t even have to explain it. I know who was there when the gym was dark. I know who turned the lights on, I ain’t worried about that.”
KAT disclosed that Edwards was unhappy with the whole episode. “I know one thing, when that was, said, I know Ant was not happy about that. Because he was like, I know I’ve seen you in there. Even when I show up, you’ve been there sweating. And when I leave, you still going for another one.” So, Towns does not feel the need to explain it to others who haven’t witnessed the hard work he puts in the gym.

When Green joined TNT’s Inside the NBA cast during the 2024 Western Conference Finals, he was critical of the Timberwolves. He had his target set on Rudy Gobert, which shifted to KAT as soon as he claimed taking 1500 shots a day.
The Warriors’ defensive mastermind asked Ernie Johnson, his co-host, whether he knew the meaning of “cap”. The GenZ term means lie. “Nobody is shooting 1,500 shots a day right now,” Green exclaimed, backed by the NBA greats, Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley.

On the media day, when the obvious discussion came up, Edwards said, “I think everybody knew KAT my brother so that definitely hurt. But you know it’s a business. I just gotta roll with it. I’m ready to get to know them [Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo] and try to get it figured out as fast as we can because we trying to get back to where we was and go even farther.”
