Will Karl-Anthony Towns' potential trade break his LA dream and impact his relationship with Jordyn Woods?

Well, Karl-Anthony Towns’ world has turned upside down in the last few days after reports emerged of him getting traded to the Knicks. Having been a franchise player in Minnesota for nine years, it’s surely a massive shift in his career. But the blockbuster trade may also cause a hindrance in his personal life. While KAT recently invested $14 million to fulfill a ‘couple goal’ with girlfriend Jordyn Woods, the move to New York only takes him further away from it. And Jordyn has finally broken her silence.

As per TMZ’s report, KAT and Jordyn recently purchased an 11,000 sq. ft. mansion in Los Angeles worth a whopping $14 million. As expected, the house is in a celebrity neighborhood with Kylie Jenner’s residence right down the street. Yes, the move was a bit ambitious considering Towns spent most of his time in Minnesota, which is nearly 1900 miles away from the City of Angels.

However, that distance will now increase to 2800 miles once KAT switches coasts and joins the Knicks roster, further delaying the couple’s potential plan of moving into the luxury mansion. The dream-come-true property has 7 bedrooms spanning over two acres of land. It also features an entertainment pavilion with a spa, sports, and gym facilities, a barn with 7 horses, a big garage, a 350-bottle wine fridge, a 13-seat home theater, and more!

But KAT’s girlfriend does not seem too bothered by the distance as she’s seemingly wholeheartedly accepted the trade by sharing an AI-generated image of her better half wearing the Knicks uniform on her Instagram story. And Jordyn even captioned it with several heart-eyed emojis, marveling at the hooper’s ten-year career progression.

With new details constantly emerging about the three-team trade, the deal is rapidly closing in on becoming official. And Jordyn Woods’ support for KAT should not come as a surprise as they’ve been dating for over 4 years and have stood by each other through thick and thin. “Me and Jordyn met years ago, knowing common people and just became friends. Ever since then, our relationship grew, where we became more than friends. I’m not saying in that way, but just best friends. And then we started having a deeper relationship,” Towns said in 2021. So, the increased distance from their new LA mansion might not be a big issue for the couple.

The Knicks had been planning the Karl-Anthony Towns trade “for months”

As details emerge, it looks like KAT moving to the East Coast was inevitable. As per veteran insider Shams Charania, “This is something that the Knicks were quietly working on for months since the start of the offseason, since draft night.” Yes, while the news came as a shock to Towns and he reportedly did not get a heads up from his team beforehand, Shams reveals that the Knicks initially offered the Wolves Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson in exchange for their star Center. However, Minnesota adamantly declined.

Will Karl-Anthony Towns' potential trade break his LA dream and impact his relationship with Jordyn Woods?

But when Donte DiVincenzo was included in the deal, the window opened slightly, making way for the eventual offer. And with the Knicks giving up Randle and DiVincenzo along with Keita Bates-Diop and a 2025 Top-13 pick, the Wolves finally agreed to part ways with KAT. So, the LA dream was always a far-fetched idea for KAT and Jordyn. However, the move might take the Center closer to his championship dream as now the Knicks have one of the most lethal starting lineups in the league with Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, and Karl-Anthony Towns.

And maybe, the couple can celebrate in their LA mansion once KAT finally gets his hands on the Larry O’Brien trophy. That would be quite a housewarming party! Thoughts?
