The latest New York Knicks trade has left Karl-Anthony Town hurt, both professionally and personally. It’s quite clear when it comes down to professionally wounded. After starting his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves, the team has let go of him after 9-seasons without any heads up. It’s a cruel trade indeed. On the other hand, Towns put himself in a personal blow because of his $14 million LA fete with his girlfriend, Jordyn Woods.
While we speak more about professional betrayal, let’s focus more on the 28-year-old Los Angeles dream of Woods. TMZ reported that the couple purchased an 11,000 sq. ft house worth $14 million in LA right down the street near Kylie Jenner’s house. Interestingly, Towns invested in this property despite his professional duty in Minnesota, which is 1,900-odd miles away from LA. Unfortunately, after the latest Knicks trade, the distance has further increased to 2800-odd miles. So, currently, Towns has a decision to make between the two cities, which is a matter of 900-odd miles difference.
Notably, New York and Los Angeles are in the opposite direction, practically making it difficult for the big man. Nevertheless, looking at the mansion’s specifications reported by TMZ, this is definitely a place to host parties. To name a few, this mansion has a 7-bedroom, 17-bathroom, 2-bedroom guest house, a pavilion that can accommodate a spa, gym, sports, and entertainment, a barn with 7 horses, a big garage, a 350-bottle wine fridge, a 13-seat home theater and more. Most importantly, the place also has a nightclub that can accommodate 150 people with a separate entrance.

So, the specification almost gives away that Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods don’t really have to move into the mansion. The couple can use the place whenever they want to host a lavish party in LA or when they’re looking to spend some time alone. Nevertheless, this doesn’t take away his professional misery.
Can Karl-Anthony Towns build a similar rapport with the Knicks?
A few months ago, Towns sat alongside Anthony Edwards, addressing the press together during the 2024 playoffs. It looked as if the duo was hungry to dominate the league and win the ring. Unfortunately, they fell short in the Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. Despite the loss, it was evident that the duo complimented each other, brought back the lost glory to Minnesota. Most importantly, no one expected the team to break-up a successful duo. Tragically, it’s merely a cold business move.
Sadly, Kat didn’t get a heads-up from the team before this heart-breaking, leaving him stunned. In response to the update, the 7 ‘0 big man had an odd reaction, dropping three full stops, “…” on his X handle, clearly indicating that he wasn’t happy with the trade.

On the other hand, the Knicks core also has a similar mood. When the team roped in Mikal Bridges, they made an unusual pair up of bringing four college teammates, the Villanova gang, together. When everyone eagerly anticipated the teammates to take the court together, the Knicks ruined it by breaking up the team at the last minute, sending Donte DiVincenzo to the Wolves. So, Towns might take some time before settling in, but, at the same time, he has got himself a championship-contending team.
