Kai Jones Drops a Bombshell on Charlotte Hornets, Days After Missing Training Camp Citing ?Personal Reasons?

The preseason content just keeps getting better. There has been a surge in controversial yet interesting news coming in. This time the news is coming from the Charlotte Hornets camp. Hornets, who recently went through a major change as far as their management and ownership are concerned, are looking forward to bouncing back. While there have been several shocking trades already, this one is presented differently.

Now with the new season just days away, they have been hit with yet another bombshell. Their 22-year-old center Kai Jones, who had to miss training camp, has publically admitted to headline-worthy news. While we’ll have to wait sometime to see where this goes, this is surely going to ruffle some feathers.

Kai Jones makes his Hornets demand public

Jones has been with the Hornets since 2021. He was drafted by the New York Knicks as the 19th overall pick and then traded to the Hornets. Considering that the Hornets are in the process of rebuilding, a youngster like him is highly valued. Additionally, the Charlotte franchise has been giving out poor performances season after season for years now. Earlier they were owned by Michael Jordan who decided to sell his majority stake in the team for a whopping $3 billion.

However, it seems like Jones is going to make their rebuild a bit more trickier, going by his latest post.

The 22-year-old posted on X that he has submitted a request to be let go. He posted, “I have officially requested to be traded from the Charlotte Hornets“. Additionally, he also used the hashtag, “#GOATLIFE“ to end his post.

This may also be an indicator of the youngster’s big aspirations in life, as he had previously declared that he wants to be counted among the GOATs in his career. Now, with this trade request, it will be interesting to see if and when the Hornets decide to oblige his request. Regardless, his post is going viral as it has garnered thousands of retweets within minutes of being posted.

Kai Jones had missed training camp

Earlier, Jones had missed the training camp with the Hornets. At the time it was said that his absence was due to some “personal reasons”, but going by his latest post, fans are wondering if that was a lie. Other than that, Jones has had issues with his team as well as he was thrashing them on Instagram.
