Stephen A. Smith feels like a moral obligation to hate LeBron James. Well, there is no secret that the veteran analyst simply cannot admit and accept Bron being… Bron. His $1.2 billion fortune, his Lakers move, appointment of JJ Redick, and even Darvin Ham’s exit. Everything feels like a conspiracy to Stephen A. For him, there is only one GOAT, and that is Michael Jordan. There is no debate about this, but to belittle the Akron Hammer? His fans are giving it back to SAS, not just in style but with full force.

Popular streamer and Celebrity All-Star contestant Kai Cenat was in ESPN’s studio. Sitting face-to-face with Stephen A. Smith, the 23-YO had a lot to say. To begin with, Cenat is a LeBron James fan like most of the young generation. Thus, he cannot contain his frustration over the 57-year-old veteran’s repeated angry rants.

“Stephen, when it comes to LeBron James, you start hating. That’s how I feel because I feel like you’re more of an older-generation type of dude. You like Michael Jordan. Cool,” Kai Cenat blasted Stephen A. “But listen, every time there’s a debate going on with you, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James, you always have something to say about LBJ. And I’m here to say, bro, LeBron’s better than Jordan. I said it. I said it, bro.”

This revelation riled up Smith who then warned the streamer that he shouldn’t bring such a thought to the show. “Michael Jordan ain’t never had 50,000 points. Okay, let’s talk about that real quick. Okay!” Cenar continued. “He ain’t played for 25 years,” Stephen A. Smith reverted back. “LeBron James is 40 years old, and he’s performing better than half of the people in the league right now. Understand that. Do you understand the greatness that’s going on right now?” Kai Cenat debated.

In all honesty, Bron is truly back in his prime era now. He was recently pronounced as the Player of The Month from the Western Conference. He’s putting up more than 25 points on average in every game. But for Smith, everything is a sham. Thus he taunts Cenat: “This is the problem with the young whippersnappers like yourself. This is the problem. Okay.”

Well, these days Stephen A. Smith is getting exposed frequently. Moreover, the heat of Molly Qerim’s hard jab at him didn’t even settle down. And now, he had a 23-YO tutoring him about his habit of hitting James with his sharp words.

LeBron's still dominating at 40—does this make him the true GOAT over Jordan?

Molly Qerim publicly calls out Stephen A. Smith for his take on JJ Redick’s job at the Lakers

In the summer of 2024, the Los Angeles Lakers fired head coach Darvin Ham and brought a fresh perspective. JJ Redick walked into the locker room with an approach like never before, he was here to revive the Lakers’ glory. He was here to bring a change. However, when Ham’s job was in jeopardy and there were rumors about his replacement, LeBron James sat for a podcast episode with Redick. And this theory doesn’t sit well with Stephen A. Smith.

Currently, the Lakers are at the top of their defensive game. So, Molly Qerim asked SAS if James should be credited for JJ Redick‘s presence on the team. After all, Smith claimed that the 40YO rookie coach deserved to become the Coach of The Year. But well, Qerim had just begun taking a jab. She added: “Because he [LeBron] got killed for, ‘Hey! We have a podcast together, and he just got the job, and it’s essentially nepotism and this and that.’ And I’m saying, and now we’re praising him as potentially he’s the coach of the year, and we were, like, raking LeBron through the coals for that.”

This again fired up Stephen A. Smith who had to prove his point. His point was that: Bron was wrong, he had some involvement in JJ Redick’s appointment and Darvin Ham’s exit. “You don’t have a podcast with an aspiring head coach while your head coach is coaching you and rumors are swirling that his job is in jeopardy. That’s low class,” Smith explained. For Stephen A., the outcome isn’t everything. “How you do something matters,” he says. And LeBron James‘ role in Ham’s exit? “That was jacked up.” Sure, a championship would be nice. But still, Smith won’t let LeBron off the hook. The way Ham was pushed out? Messy. Unfair. All on LeBron!
