Julius Randle's silence speaks volumes—Is his Knicks exit a blessing in disguise for his career?

While Julius Randle’s world has turned upside down in the last 24 hours with the shocking trade to Minnesota, he has remained silent throughout the whole ordeal. Giving 5 years of his career to the Knicks franchise, people in New York are left heartbroken with the All-Star forward’s departure and have filled the internet with wholesome tributes and thank-you messages. And finally, someone from the Randle family has said something to reciprocate the fans’ emotions and address the trade. But instead of Julius, it’s his wife, Kendra!

When a Knicks fan page on Instagram posted a beautiful tribute video covering Randle’s journey in New York mashed up with the tunes of Green Day’s ‘Good Riddance’, Kendra couldn’t hold back in thanking the Knicks community as she shared the video on her Instagram story. “Forever grateful for this experience. New York was amazing to our family,” she wrote, following it with a blue heart emoji.

Then, she reminisced about how her family has grown since Julius Randle joined the team five years ago, “Kye Kye (their son) grew up in the garden. We got here when he was 1.5 years old and this year, he will be 8. So many of you embraced him/us and made this experience unforgettable and I’m forever grateful.”

While leaving the city where her son spent the initial years of his life comes with a pinch of salt, Kendra is looking forward to embarking on a new journey with her husband in Minnesota, “Bittersweet moment but so excited for a new healthy chapter for our family.” The super-emotional video even prompted a comment from Mrs. Randle. She posted, “😩😩🥹🥹🥹🥹”.

She even acknowledged actor Ben Stiller’s heartfelt tribute to Julius, where he detailed the ups and downs the forward went through in New York. “Well said. Thank you @benstiller,” she wrote. Everything was looking to be on track until exactly a week ago. The injured star had people worried, but he recently attended the NYCFC soccer game against Lionel Messi and Co. His appearance itself was enough to assure the locals that he was doing well. However, it just wasn’t meant to be, was it?

As the hooper prepares to begin the next chapter of his career, he is lucky to have a wife like Kendra who has stood by his side through thick and thin.

Kendra was filled with pride as she saw Julius Randle never give up

Well, this is not the first time Kendra has publicly expressed her opinion about a big moment in the career of her husband. Just last year, after the hooper underwent a season-ending shoulder surgery, his wife penned her thoughts about the adversity in a heartfelt message. “Less than a year ago, we were here for ankle surgery. You fought back, became an All-star for the 3rd time, then got hurt again. I watched you fight so hard to try to make it back to your team, but I know this is all God’s plan. Your resilience inspires me, and I know you’ll be back yet again. I’m so proud of you🤍,” she wrote.

While Julius Randle gradually turned into a superstar during his time in New York, Kendra was always there to support him. And she was one of the biggest motivating factors for the forward as he dealt with multiple injuries. Sure enough, Kendra is now looking forward to what’s next as she even tweeted an edited image of her husband dawning the new Wolves jersey right after the trade got announced. And hopefully, the couple will have the same level of success with Julius’ new team as they enjoyed in New York.
