The New York Knicks have taken the NBA World by storm with their performance this season. They decimated the Washington Wizards in tonight’s game and blew them out 121-105. A major reason for the Knicks’ success has been their superstar duo of Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle. The duo dominated the Wizards tonight and combined for 72 points in the win.

After the game, Randle paid homage to the legendary Knicks duo of Walt Frazier and Willis Reed after joining their elite company alongside teammate Jalen Brunson.

New York Knicks legend Walt Frazier interviewed Julius Randle after his incredible performance in tonight’s game. Apart from getting the win tonight, Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson became the first Knicks duo since Walt Frazier and Willis Reed to score 30+ points in the same game. Frazier congratulated Randle for letting him mention his name with Willis Reed one more time after the big achievement. Randle responded with a wholesome statement, “We’re just trying to follow in your footsteps Clyde, that’s all.” The Knicks Forward paid homage to the two legends and appreciated them for what they have done for the game and the New York Knicks franchise.

Walt Frazier and Willis Reed are two of the Greatest players in the Knicks franchise history. Reed and Frazier played together from 1967 to 1974, and they were one of the most lethal duos in NBA history. The legendary duo helped the Knicks win their only two Championships, in 1970 and 1973. Center Willis Reed was awarded the Finals MVP both times. Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson have a lot of similarities to Frazier and Reed, as they are also a point guard-center duo.

The most underrated duo in the NBA

Julius Randle joined the New York Knicks in 2019 on a 3-year $63 million deal. The Knicks were in desperate need of a new star, and many analysts questioned the move because Randle had not proven himself as a superstar in the league. But Randle had an immediate impact on the Knicks and played great under pressure. Two years later, Jalen Brunson joined forces with Randle and took the Knicks to even greater heights. Just like Randle’s move, Brunson’s trade was also criticized by the league.

But Randle and Brunson helped the Knicks win their first playoff series in 10 years last season. They are performing even better this season and have led the Knicks to a 21-15 record. Despite leading one of the most historic franchises to a successful season, they are seldom ranked among the best duos in the NBA. Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson might be the most underrated duo in the league today.
