LeBron and Bronny on the court together—does this cement LeBron's legacy as the ultimate GOAT?

With a 9-point lead heading into the second quarter, JJ Redick took the big call to send in Bronny James. That’s it, that one single decision created a wildfire in the NBA world. Bronny and LeBron James taking the court at the same time – First ever father-son duo on an NBA court. King James truly going one up in the GOAT discussion. Above all, it wasn’t just the fans, the NBA community also joined the bandwagon to celebrate the historical feat.

Firstly, James’ former teammate JR Smith acknowledged the historical moment by sharing the moment of truth in his IG stories. The dream moment didn’t just stop at Bronny clocking in, but had much more to it. The 20-year-old opted to go for a full-court defense on the Phoenix Suns’ inbound pass and LeBron James followed his son to defend the other Suns player. It became a recipe for a perfect father-son moment. Bronny and LeBron stood next to each other on their first-ever appearance together.

Speaking of it, LeBron James was himself moved. He said, “I went up as my guy was taking the ball. We were standing next to each other, and I kinda looked at him and it was like the matrix… It didn’t feel real.”

On the other hand, Damian Lillard seemed to have fallen prey to the wholesomeness, as he shared the moment on his IG stories and wrote, “I ain’t gone lie this so (fire),” with a flurry of fire emojis.

Apart from the startling moment, there was yet another wholesome moment when LeBron James set up a screen for his son. It was magical to see Bronny come off the screen and shoot a jumper from the arc. Unfortunately, it didn’t drop inside the basket to make it a magical moment. But why exactly is this union being celebrated?

Why is it an unreal dream for LeBron James?

Have an interesting take?

Well, it’s obvious, isn’t it? First of all, it’s tough even to get a spot in the NBA and even if you do get a spot, it’s tough to sustain it for a long time. Now, take a look at LeBron James. The superstar came into the league as the #1 pick in 2003 and won the ROYT award. From then on, the grind didn’t stop. On Sunday night, he marked his presence for the 22nd year in the season, equalizing Vince Carter’s record.

It’s important to note that James didn’t just barely make it to the 22nd season but he did so in commanding fashion. A few months back, the 39-year-old won the MVP award at the Paris Olympics’ gold medal campaign. Now, he has another accolade to add under his name. The first-ever player in the league to play alongside his son. And probably the last one to do it ever. Only if we could witness another chosen one.

Moreover, to sum up this emotion clearly, Utah Jazz player Jordan Clarkson shared a series of collages that included Bron and Bronny moments from yesteryears to the wholesome debut on his IG stories. Truly a legendary career!
