The USA defeating Greece in the FIBA World Cup is the most unsurprising thing ever. The difference between the talent levels looked apparent. However, a ball game is still a ball game. You have to play your best even when you are the best. Therefore, it required some tremendous performances from the USA players to pull off this win. Austin Reaves continued to sizzle the hooping world.

And one other performance also stood out, which earned huge laurels.

The USA saw some scintillating performances. Austin Reaves led the way with 15 points to pour further fuel in his immense stardom this summer. Anthony Edwards and Jalen Brunson each scored 13 points. Jaren Jackson was a stud on the defensive end while Bobby Portis finished with 10 points, mostly doing the mop-up job.

However, one performance was particularly eye-catching. It was Josh Hart who put on a show.

While playing his usual top-notch defense, he also did a great job as a passer, dishing five assists.

But it was his rebounding that grabbed the most attention. The guard pouched 11 rebounds and showcased his usual hustle and high-level activity. NBA fans have gotten used to the New York Knicks Guard putting up such big numbers.

This has been the case since the Lakers drafted him. He built this reputation throughout his career, playing for the Pelicans, Trail Blazers, and the Knicks. He has averaged eight rebounds for half of his career.

That is why the Knicks a four-year $81 million deal in the offseason. He may not be an assertive scorer, but he does a lot of things better than other people in his position. And also why he earned huge praise from around the corner.

One praise came from Stephen Curry, and Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.

Coach Kerr recognized the contributions of Hart. In the post-game conference, he stated, “Josh is just a winner. People ask ‘What position does he play?’ He plays winner. I don’t know what position he plays… At one point Spo turned to me & said ‘Some people get 50-50 balls; he gets the 30-70 balls”.

For the USA, the second unit has been much more impressive than the first unit. They have provided the decisive punch and the duo of Reaves and Hart highlighted that fact again. In the last game, Paolo Banchero also sizzled off the bench.
