The NBA training camp is getting nearer. Players are engaging in boxing to keep their intensity up for the upcoming season. There were snippets of Anthony Davis engaging in the activity. There are numerous other examples of athletes revving it up during boxing sessions. In the midst of such developments, the Golden State Warriors’ name with boxing has become a matter of ridicule.
And that is because of what Draymond Green did last season.

During October 2022, the Warriors were practicing during the training camp. Draymond Green and Jordan Poole had exchanged some glances but then they engaged in a war of words. However, things got out of control when the Warriors Forward approached the current Wizards Guard Poole. Jordan pushed him away, but then Green lost his marbles.
He first shoved Poole away, then he planted his left foot and leaned in for a heavyweight punch that knocked the Warriors Guard out. The bad memories of the punch still haunts the young Washington Guard. The apology from the defensive dynamo wasn’t enough.
The Warriors didn’t give any severe punishment to the defensive Forward. After a year, Dray remains in a Warriors jersey while Poole is away. It is clear who the Franchise values more and how much they want to protect him. While Dray’s punch came in an unfortunate manner, his current teammate Jonathan Kuminga isn’t holding back his punches when he is training.

He dodges a punch by his trainer in front of his eye line. Then he uses a couple of jabs to push the momentum. For his size, the springy player showed amazing control and flexibility.
While he has ways to go when it comes to generating power from his abdomen area, he is still pretty good.
On the flip side, for many fans, this became a chance to take shots at Draymond Green.
Fans see an opportunity for major jokes
Naturally, the fans didn’t shy away from taking verbal jabs at Green when they saw Kuminga hit top gear. Many comments were about the whole Dray-Poole situation.

The punch saga has surely carried on deep within NBA fans. However, the boxing videos of young stars like Kuminga are also well-appreciated. At any rate, the talented Forward is on a four-year $24 million contract and has created a strong amount of financial security already.
