With F1 fans witnessing the exciting Singapore GP, former MVP, Joel Embiid also joined the watch party. At this point, it seems that the Process can’t keep from enjoying each and every sport. Embiid recently showed his love for football, supporting Arsenal. Nevertheless, the Singapore GP will be registered in history books. But why is that? Well, it all has to do with the safety car appearance. The 62-lap race surely featured a safety car appearance right?

Quite frankly, the answer is no. There were no crashes during the race! And as history would go on to narrate, this was the first Singapore GP without any safety car. Joel Embiid shed some light on the trending news saying, I guess y’all turned the safety car setting off @F1…… Turn it back on”. F1 fans around the world were quite surprised to witness a race without a safety car, as they should be. On the other hand, with Lando Norris winning the Singapore Grand Prix, the gap between Verstappen and Norris isn’t as close as fans might expect.

To be precise, Norris is still 52 points behind the first place after 18 rounds. His third career win at the Singapore GP turned out to be quite historic too. Regardless, Embiid’s response to F1 had fans talking about the several sports he follows. Well, the regular season is just a month away. Embiid and company are also on track to get started with the preseason games. With PG13 and Maxey alongside Joel, the upcoming regular season will be interesting to watch, especially for Philly fans.

Besides, the US GP that is to be held in Austin is scheduled for October 20th, two days before the start of the regular season. Not only will Embiid have a thrilling start to the season, but he will be accompanied by yet another Grand Prix. Moreover, the US GP will feature a 56-lap race. As fans root for Norris to clinch first place, this might be his chance to close the gap. If he does, it will be intriguing to witness Embiid’s reaction.

Is Joel Embiid right to call out F1 safety, or is he overreacting?

Have an interesting take?

Back in March, Embiid was excited after the Bahrain Grand Prix saying, “FORMULA ONE IS BACK” on Twitter. Not only that, but recently during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Embiid declared Oscar Piastri as the future World Champion after his win in Baku City Circuit. Moreover, he even threw shade at Sainz when he crashed during the penultimate lap saying, “WTF WAS SAINZ DOING?”. There is no doubt that the 2023 MVP has been closely following F1 for quite a while.

Unlike other NBA players who mostly show interest in football (NFL) and golf off the court, Embiid is more like a European sports fan. It’s great to see Joel showcase his many interests off the court, most of which are quite unique when compared to others. As the regular season approaches, Embiid will look to get back to training ahead of the crucial year. However, the F1 fans will be eyeing his reactions as the upcoming races align with the NBA season.
