Looks like the Philadelphia 76ers fans have to brace themselves for yet another setback! With Joel Embiid and Paul George out of action in the initial stages of the season, fans endured those losses with the hope of a better ending. However, things don’t seem to change even after their return. And to make things even worse, the troubled superstar, Joel Embiid, stated that he needs another surgery. Wait, it’s not over yet. Following tonight’s embarrassing loss against the Toronto Raptors, the big man had something more to say!

By embarrassing, I didn’t mean the entire game. Embiid & Co. put up a fighting effort to take on the thriving Raptors at home. It was just that one play that had the falling down at the Wells Fargo Center. With around 10-odd seconds left in the game, the Sixers were trailing by 2 points.

Tyrese Maxey, who had a difficult night shooting the ball, drove the ball into the painting attracting a ton of defenders around him. Guess what? It left Joel Embiid wide open behind the perimeter with all the time in the world to take the game-winner. Instead, the 30-year-old dribbled the ball inside and ended up losing it to Raptors’ Gradey Dick. That’s it, the heaven opened and all the 19,767 fans in attendance broke into rousing ‘boo’ in unison. It didn’t help the team either, as the visitors walked away with a 106-103 win.

However, with the current fitness, everyone expected things to change but it hasn’t. According to Underdog NBA, the Cameroonian big man wasn’t sure if he would lace up tomorrow.

So, along with his latest update, expressing the need for another surgery, the Quaker City fans are in for a ride in the near future. Nevertheless, let’s find out how the latest update would impact the Sixers game tomorrow.

With Embiid's uncertain future, is it time for the Sixers to rethink their championship aspirations?

Have an interesting take?

With Kyle Lowry and Eric Gordon out, the Sixers already had a thin depth. Joel Embiid’s absence would only worsen the situation for the City of Brotherly Love. Moreover, the Nets are right behind the Sixers in the points table with a 2-game winning streak. So, we can expect D’Angelo Russell & Co. to trust their momentum and take down the struggling Sixers.

On the other hand, Paul George has had a quiet run in the season so far, averaging 16.6 ppg which is the star forward’s lowest in the last 9 seasons. With uncertainty surrounding Embiid’s future, PG’s improved performance can save the team from embarrassment. Moreover, Daryl Morey, in his latest press meet, revealed that the team still has hopes for making a run for the championship. So, it’s high time everyone locked in. What do you think?
