The Boston Celtics looked uninspired in their recent defeat against underdogs, the Sacramento Kings. To make matters worse, the Kings were playing without their star De’Aaron Fox, and despite that, they managed to roll past the Celtics 114-97 at the TD Garden. As the expected post-game Boston’s head coach Joe Mazzulla confronted the harsh reality after a rough defeat.
Boston has just won seven of their last 15 games creating an air of tension around the team. While addressing the media a reporter asked the Celtics’ head coach if the teams are closing in on his side’s three-point leaning gameplan. To which he replied, “For me, it’s more about fighting for the right shot regardless of what that is. When you’re open you got to make it, if not you drive it and make the right play.” Suggesting his plan is to make the right shot available and not just shots from beyond the arc.
At the same time, Celtics star Jayson Tatum also addressed the glaring issues with the team this season. A reporter pointed out that the Celtics have struggled defensively this season, particularly in the fourth quarter where they rank 26th in the league. Tatum addressed this by saying, “Tonight we had a lot of turnovers, I did in particular, uh you know that all those things play a part. Um, and you know our defense needed to be better.”

Kristaps Porzingis admits booing at TD Garden was “deserved” after the Kings loss
Well, it wasn’t just Joe Mazzulla and Jayson Tatum who assessed the Celtics situation after the loss. Big man Kristaps Porzingis also joined in as he said the home crowd’s booing was appropriate given their poor performance. Porzingis said, “Honestly I like it, It’s kind of deserved, you know? They expect a high level from us based off of our level and what we’ve shown in the past.” Suggesting the booing was not only deserved but should be seen as motivation to perform better.
It has been a difficult patch for Boston as they look to find answers amid their issues on both ends of the field. Their shooting wasn’t great and cost them the game. Boston shot 40.5 percent from the field and their three-point shooting also took a toll as they landed just 26.8 percent of shots from beyond the arc.

Furthermore, this marked their second game out of the last three where they failed to reach hundred points. Nonetheless, the Boston Center believes “We’re not having the prettiest moment as a team right now and it’s completely normal. I don’t need to be negative. Believe me, we’ll figure it out.” as he stated this is just a comma in their season and not a full-stop. They continue their title defense with the Pelicans paying them a visit next.
