Luka Doncic hit back at ESPN‘s JJ Reddick over his latest snub. In his recent episode of The Old Man & the Three podcast, JJ Reddick went on to list the best starting line-up from the teammates he has played throughout his career. In his 15-season-long career, he has played for 6 teams, which also includes 16 games for the Dallas Mavericks.

Reddick listed Chris Paul, Vince Carter, Jimmy Butler, Blake Griffin, and Joel Embiid as his best line-up. Immediately, his co-host reminded him of Luka Doncic, and Reddick was quick to replace Carter with him. He also apologized to the star for snubbing him with a smile. In response to the video clip that surfaced on X, Luka Magic reacted with friendly fire. He wrote, “Its ok, you were still mad i beat you at golf….” with a flurry of laughing emojis.

JJ Reddick had an illustrious career, playing alongside many greats and upcoming stars throughout his career. Despite his partnership with the greats, he wasn’t able to win any rings. But he sure did develop a great bond. For instance, he barely played alongside Luka Doncic for 2 months, but they showed signs of great friendship on multiple occasions.

In the latest episode, he was even ready to drop Vince Carter off his line-up for Luka. He said, “Oh f**k! It was only two months. I love you Vince,” and went to name the new line up. He added, CP, Luka, Jimmy, Blake, Joel… Luka, I apologize.”

While Luka went after his former teammate with a friendly fire, they also backed each other on camera as well. Let’s take a look at the occasion when Reddick stood up for Luka, when he was criticized widely.

In the last few seasons, Luka Doncic has been criticized for his defensive abilities. Notably, the Mavs’ coach Jason Kidd himself openly asked the star to develop on his defensive abilities in the past. Speaking of Luka defense abilities during Mavs star’s latest feature in his podcast, Reddick praised highly of him. In response, LukaMagic said, “You should say it on TV… Push the agenda for NBA’s second defensive team,” on a lighter note.

Rightfully so, the Mavs guard has definitely worked on his defense. In the last 5 games, he has averaged 2 steals per game. Last night he recorded 3 crucial steals against the Suns for the win.
