Ever since Jimmy Butler demanded a trade, there’ve been constant speculations about his next potential destination. Not many predict him staying with the Heat and playing for Pat Riley. Especially after they penalized him with a 7-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team. Reports revealed that Jimmy had a meeting scheduled with Heat owner Micky Arison to discuss his future in Miami. Surprisingly, teammate Kevin Love’s latest social media post might just have revealed JB’s final decision about his Heat future.

Love posted a short clip of an iconic scene from the movie ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ where Leonardo DiCaprio’s character tells his employees, “I’m not f–k— leaving! The show goes on. This is my home. They’re gonna need a f–k— wrecking ball to take me out!”

While the video might look out of context on its own, the big man captioned it, “LIVE LOOK – Jimmy after his meeting with Micky #getmyjoyback.” Yes, it looks like JB might be staying in Miami after all, following his meeting with the team owner. Moreover, this assumption looked even more solid when the playoff specialist liked his teammate’s IG post!

Well, if that’s the case, then we could see Jimmy Butler back on the court as soon as tomorrow- for the Nuggets clash, now that he has served his suspension fully. Although he hasn’t suited up for seven games, the forward has constantly been working out with assistant coach Octavio De La Grana along with two more staff members. So, he will surely be ready to go.

Of course, the details about his meeting with Arison remain unknown, but there is a chance that Butler has put his trade request on hold, at least for now. However, that does not mean he is back on good terms with Riley.

As per veteran insider Shams Charania, “Sources say that Jimmy Butler told Pat Riley to his face that he wants to be traded. That he will never again sign a contract in Miami. That if he has to utilize his $52 million player option in the offseason, it will only be used as a trade maneuver.” Maybe, he has decided to ride out this season and keep his trade worries for the offseason.

If Butler decides to stay for the season or maybe longer, he will need to be in sync with his teammates, so that they can focus on competing for a title again. He needs to be better and help the team get better too. As of now, they are ninth in the East and need to make a run to get back to playoff contention. At least that was the aim. Despite the escalated situation between Jimmy and Riley, Rachel Nichols believes that the star forward should have no problem mending the situation with his teammates and Erik Spoelstra.

She said, “Bam is essentially such a nice and good guy… I think he wants to see the good in people… My impression is if Bam is okay with it, if Erik wants to win and is OK with it, and if Jimmy comes in with a good attitude, I think that locker room gets fixed.” Surely, Miami fans would love for that to happen, as they want Butler to stay because he truly represents Heat Culture and has led them to immense success during his tenure. And considering his latest post, looks like Kevin Love is also in favor of Jimmy staying.
