It was a bad night for the Boston Celtics. None of their stars except Jayson Tatum could get themselves going against the Orlando Magic. Tatum was the only Celtics player who scored over 20 points in tonight?s game. What caused even more problems for the Celtics was the officiating by the referees.

Tatum got called for a technical foul for hanging on the rim after dunking the ball. Tatum was not happy with the call and exposed the referees? intentions after the game, ?That’s a rule they just implemented that, quite frankly, I don’t think makes any sense? maybe they want me to just let go and fall on my back.?

Tatum claimed that anybody who has ever dunked the ball knows that their momentum carries them forward, and if they do not adjust themselves by hanging on the rim, it can cause serious injuries. He was trying to make sure he was stable and that no one was underneath him. The NBA penalizes the players for hanging on the rim too long because it can lead to more theatrics and altercations between players. But it is also important for the players to find their footing before they land on the floor.

This is not the first time Jayson Tatum has been T?d up unnecessarily

Jayson Tatum has had several incidents in the past where he believed he got T?d up by the referees unnecessarily. On November 14, Tatum got called for a technical foul for clapping in frustration during the Celtics-Knicks game. The 4-time All-Star called the referees out after that game as well. Tatum believes basketball is an emotional game and hard to play without showing emotions. If the referees penalize the players for such small incidents, there will be no fun left in the game.
