Fans have been waiting for Jayson Tatum and Steve Kerr to be on the opposite ends of a court ever since the Olympics ended. Right after the Celtics celebrated their NBA Finals win in the streets of Boston, Tatum jetted off to Paris for the 2024 Olympics. But here’s the twist—despite being a five-time All-Star, JT saw limited action. Coach Steve Kerr didn’t even play him in Team USA’s matchups against Serbia.
Across four Olympic games, he averaged just 17.7 minutes per outing. For someone of Tatum’s caliber, that’s surprising, right? But when they met for the first time on Nov 6, there was some bitterness even though Tatum let everyone know he had put it behind him and moved forward. Stephen Curry, fresh off a 27-point performance that night, shared a respectful moment with JT after the game. But when the camera shifted toward Kerr, Tatum quickly turned and made his way to the locker room without hesitation.
And it happened again tonight!

The Warriors HC probably wasn’t too thrilled after watching his Warriors get completely dismantled by the Celtics in a lopsided 125-85 blowout. Meanwhile, after the game, Steph Curry took a moment to chat with Jayson Tatum. The Splash Bro didn’t stop there, also catching up with Jaylen Brown.
As Curry, Tatum, and Brown exchanged words, Kerr awkwardly lingered in the background, creating a moment that felt unintentionally cringe! Was the head coach waiting to shake hands? Even the TNT host sneakily said, “I was curious to see if there was a Tatum Steve Kerr Handshake there.”
Spoiler alert – there wasn’t.
In the previous matchup’s post-conference, when reporters asked the 26-year-old about his so-called “revenge game” against Team USA boss Kerr, Tatum played it cool. “[The Olympic snub] wasn’t on my mind,” he shrugged. “Just another Wednesday. ”.
Was Kerr trying to join the conversation today or just caught in the wrong place? Who knows! It looks like there is still some bitterness left. But Jayson Tatum got his revenge on the court today, if that’s what he secretly wanted.
Jayson Tatum emerges as the Celtics’ top scorer, as they overpower the Warriors
Jayson Tatum led the Celtics to a dominant 125-85 win over the Warriors on Monday, finishing with 22 points. It was a total team effort, with 6 Celtics stars scoring in double figures. Boston’s three-point shooting was on fire, hitting 20 of 48 attempts (41.7%)—a formula that’s worked wonders for them this season, now 14-1 when making 20 or more threes.
Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, and Sam Hauser each made three triples, while Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, Payton Pritchard, and Jordan Walsh contributed two apiece. Rookie Baylor Scheierman even added his first career three-pointer!

Meanwhile, Golden State unrecognizably struggled from deep, hitting just 14 of 53 (26.4%) from three. Steph was only 4-of-12 from beyond the arc, and with the Warriors shorthanded, they needed a red-hot Curry to have a shot.
Boston’s size was a huge advantage, grabbing 50 rebounds to Golden State’s 38. Tatum and Porzingis combined for 16 boards, keeping the Bay from gaining any traction on the glass. Pritchard didn’t just score; he also dished out nine assists, helping facilitate Boston’s offense. The Celtics’ 34 assists were a big sign of the easy ball movement that made this game so smooth.
