After a dominating 3-0 run, the Boston Celtics received a stinging blow in Game 4. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving put together 50 points to force Game 5 with a blowout 122-84 win. Following the loss, the Celt’s superstar Jayson Tatum called for action from the TD Garden crowd. But little did he know that the Celts fans themselves engaged in an ugly fight inside the arena.

The Dallas Mavericks crushed their visitors and fans back home weren’t taking it lightly. A video of two Celts’ fans going after each other in the stands at the Game 4 watch party. Even when the security and fellow fans attempted to separate the two, they went on for a brief period. And, it was enough for the NBA world to label the Celtics as the “Worst fans” “Trash” and many other terms on the internet.

On the other end, unaware of the drama at TD Garden, Tatum said, I think it’s going to be as loud as it’s ever been in my seven years of being a Celtic.” Indeed, the Celts fans have always been at the loudest best. Especially when their team played against Kyrie Irving.

Now that the fans showed signs of a rift within themselves, JT might have put some extra pressure on his fans with the statement. Nevertheless, they have done a pretty good job, of taking the fight to the opponent’s head. Uncle Drew has had some experience at TD Garden in the last three years.

Moreover, the 8x NBA All-Star is yet to win a game since he stomped the Celtics logo in purpose in 2021. Currently, the star has a record of 0-12 at the arena. Fans play a major role in this embarrassing stat, as they have climbed behind his back and chanted “Kyrie sucks” whenever he was in the play. Maybe there is a twist in the tale and Irving might end his jinx in Game 5.

What went wrong with the Celtics in Game 4?

Heading into Game 3, everyone expected the Mavericks to take advantage of the home game and level the series. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Even though the Mavs brought up their offense with a notch, they lacked pretty badly on the defensive end. Luka Doncic was at the receiving end, taking all the blows for his defensive ability.

And, it led to only one conversation, the Celts sweeping the series. However, that wasn’t the case. The Mavericks tightened their screws at the defensive, making it difficult for the Celts to score buckets. In the first half, Luka & Co. restricted the Celtics with 35 points, which is their lowest in any half under Joe Mazzulla.

Speaking of the loss, Jayson Tatum said, “I think this is the most stagnant that we’ve been this series and the worst job of owning our space on the offensive end and doing what we wanted to do instead of what they were forcing us to do.” JT & Co. will have a lot of work to do in the lab before stepping on the floor for the next one.
