Love was in the air as the clock turned to the 14th of February. While the world was caught up in the romance of Valentine’s Day, our NBA players too joined the lovefest. But it wasn’t just the men doing the magical gestures. The women, too, walked an extra mile, making the day special. One of the lucky guys was Jayson Tatum, whose girlfriend brought her brand of talent to the table and received love from NBA wives and girlfriends. But what was that?
Tatum’s girlfriend, Ella Mai, posted a video on Instagram singing “Little Things” from her track, dedicating it to all the lovebirds with the caption, “happy lovers day ❤️.” Her amazing voice caught the attention of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s wife, Mariah, who couldn’t help but comment, “Vocals 🔥 lyrics 🔥💛.”
In one stanza of the song, Ella mentions, “You keep up with me when you’re working, switch your timing/ When our schedules ain’t aligning/ That’s a sign, that’s a sign/ That it’s okay to finally tell the world that you are/ More than enough, enough, enough for me.” It’s pretty clear she’s singing praises for Tatum, showing the effort he puts into their relationship despite his busy NBA duties.

While most comments were about her stunning voice, Karl-Anthony Towns’ girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, didn’t hesitate to point out Ella’s flawless skin. “It’s the skin for me 😍,” Woods wrote. Honestly, no argument there. Ella was glowing in her comfy outfit, flaunting the clean girl look.

As per rumors, Tatum and Ella have been dating since 2020. All low until then, but things heated up two years later when they made their relationship public. Their love story seemed to reach new heights last year when they proudly welcomed their baby boy, looking like the perfect fairy tale. But recently, Ella has faced some tension surrounding their child.
Jayson Tatum’s girlfriend’s tensed motherly moment went viral
Last month, Ella Mai showed up at the TD Garden to cheer on her boo, Jayson Tatum, during a Celtics game. Naturally, with her being a famous singer and, of course, Jayson’s girlfriend, the cameras couldn’t resist panning to her. But she wasn’t alone in the stands.
What’s your perspective on:
Ella Mai's protective move—Is it a mother's instinct or too much privacy in the public eye?
Have an interesting take?
As the jumbotron flashed to Ella, the little guest with her, the newborn, also came to notice. But Ella didn’t give it much time and quickly stretched her left arm to cover his face. Why did she do that? Well, she surely had her reasons. Many celebrities choose to keep their children’s faces private, and that’s their choice. Let the baby boy grow, the limelight can wait. But did the mother take offense to it?

Ella seemed visibly annoyed by the cameras zooming in on them. But in this age of the internet, how could she expect anything less than it going viral? The incident soon got spotted by the eagle-eyed fans. The discussion and debate about the good and bad side of the motherly act rolled.
Fortunately, the drama has cooled off, and all eyes are back on the NBA All-Star game for now. Tatum is on Team Shaq, which has a super strong lineup and a real shot at making it to the finals. Hopefully, fans could spot Ella in the stands on Sunday, where all the other NBA wives and girlfriends will join in. But this time, she’ll probably be extra careful with their baby, knowing the cameras will likely be zooming in on them again.
