It didn’t come easy, but the Boston Celtics displayed their resilience against an unsettled Milwaukee Bucks. The first half proved to be a test for the defending champions, going down by as much as 17! But their composed core ultimately allowed them to dig out the large deficit. It was another expert-caliber display from Jayson Tatum. Even on a night when shots didn’t fall, the MVP candidate stepped up during adverse times. However, even after securing a monumental win, JT wasn’t pleased.
When guarding Tatum in one of the possessions, Giannis Antetokounmpo accidentally had his feet in his landing space. Considered dangerous, Jay immediately went down, holding his ankle and riding in pain. Thankfully, the dazzling forward didn’t suffer any injuries. But the hoopster was left dumbfounded over the officials failing to recognize the foul.
And even after the satisfactory result, his head still replayed that moment. “Smfh some calls you just not supposed to miss,” Jayson Tatum frustratingly wrote, reacting to a fan post highlighting the foul on X. His HC, Joe Mazzulla, also shared the same opinion.

When asked about the missed call postgame, the franchise boss’s shock was evident. “That’s ridiculous. Can’t miss that,” the Celtics coach bluntly said. He also revealed the officials admitting to their mistakes, a trait Joe Mazzulla commended about the referees.

Focus also went toward Jayson Tatum’s maturity, again. In the past, the 26-year-old has found trouble with his agitated reactions. However, when one could argue that JT had all the basis to knock the decision, the hoopster instead showed poise and moved on from the situation. “He did a great job,” Joe Mazzulla proudly stated.

All night long, the Boston Celtics kept Damian Lillard contained. He only scored 14 points, ending a sizzling scoring run for himself. However, Dame’s now 1 of 12 from beyond the arc in his last 2 games. However, there was one force of nature the Shamrocks failed to curtail, and that was the Greek Freak. Giannis Antetokounmpo let himself feast, scoring 43 points to go with 13 rebounds.
It was his nuclear start that let the Bucks take a first-half lead. And by this time, Jayson Tatum only had 8 points, suffocated by the Bucks’ mobile defense. In order for the C’s to have marched back, they required JT to find his groove. And in the second half, the five-time NBA All-Star turned things around. He scored 23 of his 31 in the second half. Furthermore, in the final quarter, he showed some nerve hitting six of his seven free throws and hitting two vital three-pointers to aid the Celtics’ fightback.
The daunting win saw the Boston Celtics improve to 9-2. On the other hand, problems continue to pile on for Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks. Since their 23-point win against the Jazz, they have lost back-to-back games, losing to the Knicks before tonight.
