Jayson Tatum crying over NBA 2K25 cover—Is this the most touching father-son moment in sports?

The NBA 2K25 is here, and the world is raving all about it. We saw the release of the basketball video game on Wednesday with three editions. The categories include Standard, Hall-of-Fame, and All-Star, intriguing the NBA community and gaming enthusiasts. And while the world was intrigued to see Vince Carter and A’ja Wilson on the cover, little Deuce was intrigued to see his dad, Jayson Tatum.

Yes, with his latest win in the 2023-24 season, there’s nothing better than such a revolutionary moment of being on the cover of one of the most coveted games out there. To see themselves like that, that too with an excited son, endearingly coming to them. Of course, they’ll cry a little. Happy tears!

He revels in that moment on the latest episode of The Old Man and The Three podcast, along with Wilson herself, moments. The 5x NBA All-Star reacted emotionally, “I had a unique experience; it was on my birthday. Deuce [Tatum’s son] ran downstairs. He had like a bag. I opened it, and it was, you know, congrats, you’re under the cover of 2K blah blah blah… I actually got a little teary-eyed and kind of cried a little bit.”

Jayson’s emotions stemmed from his childhood memories, where he remembers playing the game. So, its like a full circle for him, from playing the game to being on the cover! “I grew up at my mom’s house playing 2K with my best friends and my cousin and dreaming about being in the game one day and then being on the cover. It’s like that moment to come true.” No wonder Tatum shed some tears since it was something he dreamed of and got “overwhelmed” when it came true.

What’s special in the new NBA 2K25 with 5x All-Star Jayson Tatum?

The new edition of the NBA 2K25 has got innovations with it with a treat for players with compatibility for different modes. It has a mode uniformity between the Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. However, the cross-play support facility will not be available due to the lack of next-gen consoles for most game enthusiasts. The ProPLAYTM technology that came out with the latest edition of the game will be most fruitful to PC users with the chance to play in The W, in the City, and MyNBA modes.
