Is Jaylen Brown's post a sign of deeper issues within the Celtics' locker room?

Jayson Tatum can’t seem to catch a break. Even after his career-defining NBA championship run, and his much-maligned Team USA spell in the Olympics, Tatum is constantly finding himself in the firing line of unwanted shenanigans. And the latest one came courtesy of his Celtics buddy, Jaylen Brown. Those who opened their X account early Tuesday morning came across a shocking tweet from Brown. It started off in a puzzling fashion, but things soon took a vile turn as a malicious post went viral.

Jaylen Brown posted “always use scrizon MM guys”, to which a fan replied, “bro tweet something like “f*ck tatum” lame a** hacker”. To everyone’s surprise, JB obliged and wrote, “f*ck tatum”. The whole activity points to a possible hacking job done on his account, making a controversial offseason for the 27-year-old, even more controversial.

Fans were quick to catch up with the ongoings and flocked to express their dismay at the posted content. The now-deleted posts already circulated across the platform with multiple screenshots of the original post and you’re seeing one of them above.

Jaylen Brown leaves NBA Twitter shocked with social media activity

“The real JB pretending to be hacked so he can diss Tatum in in tears”, a fan commented, indicating it’s the actual doing of Brown. While the two Celtics teammates showed a close knit bond throughout their time in Boston, reports of possible rifts always creeped out. A few instances happened during the playoffs. Speculations surfaced that Jayson Tatum was unhappy with Brown’s Eastern Conference Finals MVP award. That didn’t cause any trouble between the pair on the court as we know how the NBA Finals went.

Hoping to prompt more such responses, a fan tried his luck by commenting, “Thoughts on LeBron”. If the supposed hacker replied to this as well with something similar, things could’ve blown off for sure. Brown’s recent controversy involving LeBron’s son, Bronny is fresh in everyone’s memory. The Boston guard supposedly said, Bronny is not on the NBA level. Later JB came out to clear up the situation and wrote, “It’s a flex to have your son alongside you in the nba it reflects greatness and longevity !Bronny has all the tools around him to be successful I look forward to watching his growth”.

“You starting WW3 with this one”, another fan chimed in. JT is ridiculously popular with the Celtics fans and so is JB. But the more hardcore ones will pick a side in this chaos that can turn into an ugly social media scene. Sorry Celtics fans, but they do have a history of turning on each other with the most recent example coming during the NBA Finals game 4 watch party at the TD Garden. Fists went flying in a section of the fans after the loss to the Mavs, as security had to calm things down. So any disagreement between their two stars can certainly turn into a great Boston War if not WW3.

“Contention arising between the two Boston stars?”, questioned a X user. When the rumors of a potential disagreement between the two surfaced during the NBA Finals, Jayson Tatum cleared the air with his statement. He told NBC Sports Boston, “I’ve always told him that maybe I could have done a better job of voicing my feelings in the public eye. He always knew that I wanted him here. I would always tell him like, ‘Man, I don’t get involved with any of those talks.'” So far Tatum has remained tight-lipped over Brown’s deleted posts, but there should be some tensions if no clarification comes from JB’s side.

The Celtics training camp is set to start this month and after all this, is it too much for the fans to expect an awkward reunion? Surely there will be questions regarding this in the press meets and hopefully, Jaylen Brown’s PR team will have it sorted. After all, they have a dynasty to create in Boston.
