A two-time NBA All-Star grabbed headlines by signing the biggest NBA contract extension with the Boston Celtics for a whopping $304 million – a five-year extension known as the supermax contract. Following the deal, the player revealed his bigger plan. The plan goes beyond the basketball court and will have a wider effect on the people and community of Boston.
The 2016 draftee is one of the few who played with the same team since his draft. He lately spoke about the wealth disparity in the state while wishing to bring about a change.

Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics in a recent press conference has announced his plans to give back to the community and the NBA after signing an extension contract with the Boston Celtics.
“I want to bring Black Wall Street here to Boston,” he said. “I wanna attack the wealth disparity here. I think analytics support that stimulating the wealth gap could be actually for the betterment of the entire economy. With the biggest financial deal in the history of the NBA, it makes sense to talk about investment in the community. It’s true also, you know, the wealth disparity here, that nobody wants to talk about is top five in the US, is something that we can all improve on it. It is unsettling.”

Jaylen’s comments hint that he’s not just talking about giving back to the economy. He seems to have some other plan in mind.

“Through my platform, through influencer marketing, through selected leaders, Government officials, a lot who are in this room, we can come together and create new jobs, new resources, new businesses new ideas,” he said, “that could highlight minorities and stimulate the economy and the wealthy at the same time.”

With the signing up, Jaylen has surpassed Nikola Jokic’s record $264 million deal that Jokic signed last summer. With this statement, he joins the long list of NBA players who have used their resources to create jobs and stimulate the economy.
The iconic NBA player LeBron James offers financial support to various American organizations, like the Boy’s and Girls’ Club of America and the Children’s Defense Fund. Michael Jordan gives back to the community through his Michael Jordan Foundation. Derrick Rose has also donated millions of dollars to schools.
