It’s natural for people across the globe to bet on something they root for. From a movie’s box-office collection to election results to sports. Nothing remains untouched as bettors stake all hell and heaven in search of profit. However, the ‘joy’ of parlaying comes with the risk of losing everything. And when that happens, the star-studded Boston Celtics and their 2024 FMVP superstar Jaylen Brown take the hit, too. And it is no joke; Jaylen Brown fired off a raw, no-filter warning to Americans gambling millions on the edge of a major business leap. This wasn’t your polished PR soundbite — it was blunt, uncut, and packed with the kind of truth that hits harder than a playoff dunk. But what he said was even harsher.

Recently, the 28-year-old shooting guard sat down with Wallo and Gillie Da Kid of the Million $ Worth of Game podcast. As we know, JB is never shy when he speaks his mind. Thus, sharing his latest experiences on social media, Brown sent a direct message to Americans who bet on him and sometimes lost their stake.

He began by sharing his experience. Jaylen Brown narrated: “If I do happen to just scroll like the comments be like ‘F— you n—-.’ Like, ‘If I see you in the street, imma f— you.’ And I be like, are you for real?” To this Gillie responds with a laughter: “Damn! They’re parlay! I have a point. That was they’re parlay. ‘We had eight teams on it for $62000 for five hours.'” And maybe the host’s point or observation, as one might call it, is true. Therefore, Brown strongly stated: “I’m gonna say this on the camera. If one of you parlay f—— run up on me, imma f— you up, I’m telling you.”

But hey, even if the sports bettors do show up before JB, he knows martial arts, as Wallo chipped in. “That’s why I keep the black gloves on,” Gillie poked Brown for his habit of wearing a pair of black gloves. Or maybe they could be called “parlay gloves” now. “Try it if you want to; that’s all imma say,” JB concluded.

Meanwhile, Jaylen Brown is venturing into the world of lifestyle, expanding with and beyond his signature shoe brand 741.

Jaylen Brown announces first-ever brand partnership deal

There are no secrets when it comes to Jaylen Brown and Nike’s relationship. It’s public, and it’s not a great sight to behold. At the same time, JB has signed no brand deals since 2021, after leaving Adidas’ umbrella. However, it looks like his mindset has changed as Brown joined hands with Oakley, making it his first-ever brand partnership in years. He’s been around the NBA and with the Boston Celtics for a while now, yet this is the first time that he has considered a brand.

The eyewear giant announced a multi-year deal with the athlete on Wednesday. As part of it, he’ll co-design sports apparel and eyewear, while Oakley becomes his exclusive eyewear sponsor. But this isn’t just business. It’s personal. “This is my first ever brand partnership in my career, and that’s because I had a mission to only align with brands that mirrored my vision and values in every aspect—self-expression, style, and unity,” Brown said.

But Jaylen Brown’s Oakley partnership goes way beyond the gear. He said he joined forces because of Oakley’s “innovation and dedication to advancing sports and culture, while inspiring today’s youth.” The deal includes exclusive drops with his 741 performance brand, starting this May. Plus, it’s giving back—the brand will support his nonprofits, The XChange and 7uice Foundation. Meanwhile, Brown will back the EssilorLuxottica OneSight Foundation to help tackle vision issues globally.
