Jaylen Brown is currently on cloud nine! With the help of Jayson Tatum, he was able to secure a 4th consecutive win against the Pacers and move to the NBA Finals. If that wasn’t enough, JB’s contribution earned him the MVP of the Eastern Conference Finals. He’s come a long way in his journey as an NBA player. When Brown is showering in praises, globally, a Celtics fan found a tweet from 2014, posted by a then 17YO Jaylen Brown, a senior at Joseph Wheeler High School, Marietta, Georgia. In the tweet, we see a young Brown proclaiming a harsh truth his teacher told him in school that day.

The viral tweet states how his teacher would probably find him in prison 5 years from then. “My teacher said she will look me up in the Cobb county jail in 5 years .. Wow”.

A bad take by his teacher, Brown didn’t get upset by this comment. Rather, he used it as his fuel to channel his inner energy and achieve what he has today. This tweet first went viral in 2019 as well, when he helped Boston to an easy, 112-90 win in the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals Game 1 at the time. Then, he told the Athletic, “You don’t really forget instances like that. You use it as fuel and you move on.”

While the teacher’s remark sent Brown “in shock” and “surprised” him, he did not choose to reveal the name to the media.

Despite almost a decade has passed by, to this day, Brown does not blame the teacher for that stance. “Sometimes, because the education system is poor, especially in Georgia, sometimes teachers have too many kids and not enough help,” said Brown during an interview. “I’m not blaming the one teacher.”

Today, Brown has also become a 3x NBA All-Star and earned his first-ever MVP title. He has had an outstanding series so far, with his team sweeping the Pacers out of the season. He has averaged 29.8 points per game, proving vital in many areas throughout the season. In Game 1 of the Conference Finals, he had a game-tying 3-pointer with only a few seconds remaining on the clock, giving that chance to the Boston side to win. Following this, his performance in Game 2 was incredible too. He scored 40 points then, which matched his playoff career-high score. Then again, on Monday, he went ahead with a clutch block, allowing Derrick White to take the lead in the final minutes of the game with a three-pointer again.

Fans are keeping their fingers crossed to see him win his first-ever Championship ring this June in the NBA Finals.

Jaylen Brown’s latest achievement has elevated him to a new status within the NBA circle. After all, it’s not every day that an individual wins the Eastern Conference Finals, let alone be named as the MVP. This was a big feat, and certain members from the fraternity wanted to remind him of the same.

LeBron James was amongst the first names to send his congratulations, writing, “Keep going Young (crown emoji)! RESPECT!”. Detroit Pistons legend Isiah Thomas also sent his flowers, commenting, “Congratulations @FCHWPO @celtics let it be known!”

As for the man of the hour himself, Jaylen Brown was elated. With the ‘Larry Bird ECF MVP’ trophy placed beside him, the player shared his reaction, by stating, “I wasn’t expecting it at all. I never win sh*t. I was just happy that we won. And give credit to Indiana. They played us tough. I know people think that Indiana wasn’t a good team or whatever the case be”.
