When Jaylen Brown was named the East Finals MVP earlier this year, it left many surprised. Even JB himself, as he remarked, “I wasn’t expecting it at all. I don’t ever win s—.” Proving that it wasn’t a fluke victory, he also took home the Finals MVP trophy just weeks later. Well, if you have been following the Celtics star’s career closely, his success should not come as a shock. In fact, Brown has made a fortune with his skills on the court and his entrepreneurial mindset off it.

How rich is Jaylen Brown in 2024? Celtics star’s career earnings revealed

$80 million! That’s Brown’s estimated net worth as of October this year according to Celebrity Net Worth and several other sources. Obviously, a major chunk of it comes from the money he has raked in playing basketball. Ironically, that record was broken earlier this year by none other than his teammate Jayson Tatum, who sealed a $315 million extension for five years. In his eight seasons as an NBA athlete, Brown has made $182.05 million in career earnings, a number that is only going to increase going forward. Moreover, the forward has proven that he is worth every penny and more as he led the Celtics to a record eighteenth title last season.

Does Jaylen Brown have a signature shoe?

Although NBA earnings are a big part of an athlete’s income, having a signature shoe is what separates them from other superstars. Just ask Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Well, even though Jaylen was signed with Adidas for five years at the start of his career, he did not have a signature shoe under their umbrella. And for the past three years, JB had been a sneaker free-agent, waiting for the right opportunity to make a massive move.

Yes, with his market value and popularity at an all-time high after the Finals MVP win, Brown launched his personal sneaker brand 741 in September. Well, he was involved in a very public beef with Nike at the time after he got snubbed from Team USA’s Olympics campaign. So, the timing to unveil his own sneaker brand was just right. Sure enough, he initially created a mystique around his new signature shoe by posting images wearing an unnamed black and gold pair of sneakers.

Then, he announced the launch after the pictures went viral with ‘Rover – Black Moon’ as the first ever 741 brand sneakers, giving him his career’s first signature shoes after eight seasons. Moreover, Brown revealed that he started the brand out of boredom, “It would be great for it to be successful. But even if it’s not, who cares? I’m just kind of tired of seeing the same old things, the deals constructed the same way.”

Additionally, JB reportedly “turned down over $50 million in endorsement deals from other major sneaker companies to pursue full ownership and creative control of his own brand.”

What are Jaylen Brown’s endorsements as of 2024?

Unfortunately, it is unclear how much money he makes from endorsements, but it surely helps increase his bank balance. Sure enough, Brown is putting his income to good use, especially with his vision of giving back to the community.

It was this summer that he announced the launch of his non-profit initiative Boston Xchange. With the help of this venture, Brown aims to provide the best resources and opportunities to aspiring artists and influencers from underrepresented and historically marginalized communities. And he has a vision to generate $5 billion of generational wealth by partnering with multiple investors. Of course, he has already onboarded multiple partners, including MIT, Harvard, Roxbury Community College, and more.

“True systemic change requires collaboration, shared vision, and collective impact. By working with community partners, thought leaders, and cultural influencers, we can create a powerful network of support and innovation… The launch of the Boston XChange is a key component of this strategy, providing a dynamic hub for these collaborative efforts. Together, we can close the wealth gap and transform Boston’s economic landscape, ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.” Brown said in a press release.
