Donald Trump is set to return to the Oval Office after a closely contested battle with the Democratic Party, though he hasn’t officially taken office yet. In the meantime, the task of honoring Jayson Tatum & Co. fell to outgoing President Joe Biden. True to form, Biden did it with flair, leaving plenty of smiles on the faces of non-Celtics fans.
During the NBA champions’ visit, Biden broke the internet with his hilarious mishap. Be it intentional or unintentional, the hilarious encounter even earned a few laughs from the Cs camp. “The 2024 NBA Champions… The Bulls—You’re the Celtics, right?”, Biden said during his speech. Now, 24 hours after the incident, we finally have reactions from Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown about the day.
During the Celtics’ training session ahead of their game against the Wizards, Jayson Tatum shared his thoughts on his White House visit. Reflecting on the experience, Tatum said, “It was a surreal feeling, you seeing a bunch of pictures and videos and, to go in there. You know, maybe some I never thought I would do. So, it was a cool experience.”

When asked about discussing policy or politics, Tatum skillfully avoided the topic. “I was just walking around, taking a lot of pictures. So I ain’t getting in any of that yesterday,” he remarked. Speaking about the highlight of his visit, Tatum chose the ceremony. “Being out there, seeing all the fans, and, being on that platform with my teammates and celebrating our championship,” he concluded.

Jaylen Brown also resonated with his teammate about his experience. “I would probably view it as a political decision. Everything is a political decision if you ask me. But personally, what I would say is, like, I would go to Waffle House or wherever with my guys to celebrate what we’ve done. It doesn’t really matter. It was about our group,” JB said when asked about the visit and if he was a part of any policy discussion. “So to celebrate with our group, you know that we did something special.”
