The Boston Celtics recently faced off against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Having already secured the most wins this ongoing NBA season, the Eastern Conference team added another to their name after establishing a score of 135-100 against the OKC. The credit for the same could be awarded to the golden duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, who put up a combined 47 points while their teammate Kristaps Porzingis led the offensive effort through his 27. Brown’s availability was a boon for the Celtics, given that his left-hand injury has been a bother for quite some time now and could have easily prevented him from being absent from the matchup.

In the aftermath of the Celtics-OKC game, Brown engaged in a presser with certain media members. When asked if he had the chance to have his hand checked during the team’s recent layover at New Orleans, the 27-year-old replied that he has “a sprain or a strain on a ligament”, but it’s nothing he wants to bother himself with “going forward”.

“It bothered me a little bit tonight. But part of it is working through it, playing through it because it gives you more information…. but I think it’s nothing to be concerned about.”, Brown continued. Jaylen Brown seemed to be quite susceptible to injuries during his team’s recent win against the New Orleans Pelicans. During the 1st quarter, the player slipped and ended up tweaking his knee. He returned after having the same checked out by the Celtics’ medical team. Soon after that, however, he also ended up injuring his left hand. Once the game concluded, the 3x NBA All-Star put out a statement stating that he would “get that (hand injury) looked at when we get back to Boston.”

While Brown did end up missing his team’s next game against the Charlotte Hornets, he seems to be back now after the Injury Report had initially placed him as ‘questionable’. Whether the player’s left-hand injury will continue to be an issue is a query that will only be answered in due course.

How did Jaylen Brown perform against the Oklahoma City Thunder?

As he returned to the basketball court after missing the Celtics’ previous matchup, quite a few people would have expected Jaylen Brown to take it easy. However, the player didn’t hold back and ended up delivering his best performance in his last 3 games. While playing for 33 minutes on the court, Brown ended up securing a score of 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists to his name.

Despite having a slow start, the player soon recovered his flow and generated 15 of his 23 points during the final stage of the game. Brown also put up a strict defense, with one of his most impressive feats taking place after he knocked the ball off Chet Holmgren’s hand as the latter was preparing to go for a layup.

While his scoring was on par with his season average, Brown’s shooting ability suffered because of his injury. The player only managed to hit 3-9 in his three-pointers and 9-20 field goals. Despite his field throw percentage being at 66.7%, Brown didn’t attempt more than 3.
