Jaylen Brown fans have seen the guard struggle to make a statement ever since his rookie year. Well, he wasn’t a bright rookie for a third-overall pick. However, his improvements were indeed drastic. In just four seasons, Brown made the case for one of the best shooting guards in the league. The 27-year-old has always been consistent off the floor. When it comes to the main objective, JB and company have always come close. For instance, the Celtics have been among the top contenders in the East for the last seven years.
In fact, ever since Brown’s rookie year, the Celtics have made six trips to the Conference Finals. Still, they haven’t won a bunch of championships or made the Finals more than twice. On the other hand, JB’s contributions in the postseason never saw a decline. The shooting guard was always consistent, however, couldn’t seem to get past the third round so easily. Of course, it gets frustrating when a team actively comes up short. However, JB never gave up. The reigning Finals MVP recently shed some light on personal growth, sending motivation to the younger audience.
“Actively challenge yourself cause that’s where growth happens. Not from comfort. Whether you’ve been embarrassed, whether you lose, whether you come up short, or whether, you know, intentionally challenge yourself on purpose or confrontation. Whatever you wanna call it. Those are the moments where in my life, really everybody’s life, where you start to be like, ‘Okay, here’s where the growth was indicated from”, Brown said.

This also comes after Brown hit 500K streams on his Nike diss track, ‘Just Do It’ on Spotify. From what seemed to be a light controversy between JB and the brand, fans have been listening to the track more often. Still, there hasn’t been any reply from Nike. Regardless, when it comes to personal growth, the champ’s improvements have been visible.
The Old Man’s work ethic paid off this past season. He averaged 23 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. Brown won his first Finals MVP award and made his third All-Star appearance. And his recent thoughts on self-improvement not only serve motivation through words but also his achievements so far in his career. Also, JB’s consistency seems quite underrated. In the last five years, he has missed minimal games and has started all the contests he suited up for. At the end of the day, the grind does not end for Brown.

Jaylen Brown is locked in to defend his title
Brown caught some early work before the start of the season. JB and his team traveled to Bahrain to train for the upcoming season. Brown shared pictures from his workout as the champ looks all ready for the upcoming season. He’s had quite an eventful summer this year, dealing with all the hate as well as controversies. JB called out Nike multiple times which was indeed the highlight of his summer following his first championship. But that shouldn’t fool anyone with the work he’s been putting in.
In reality, this might just be the turning point of Brown’s career. And no, it is not because he is coming off a Finals MVP run. JB was considered second to Tatum in terms of overall game during the regular season and the playoffs. However, Brown turned the tide this past postseason. Also, if he continues to maintain this momentum, the Celtics can make the case for establishing themselves as a dynasty spearheaded by Jaylen Brown along with Tatum and others.
The pre-season is just three weeks away. On the other hand, the Celtics will be playing the Knicks for the season opener game. It will be interesting to see Brown and Tatum on the floor, as the duo is looking forward to repeating the title, especially Brown. The narratives they faced during the summer are enough of a fuel to fire the motivation.
