With the new season on the horizon, the Celtics are off to Abu Dhabi for their training camp. But before that, Jaylen Brown sat with Sean Evans for an episode of the popular YouTube show. Talking about all things hoops, JB spilled the beans on how to bottle the Mavs duo, the same ones who he beat last season to the title.
“Being an elite defender, you gotta study guys’ rhythm… So like, if you see, like, certain guys, they play to a certain beat, to a certain cadence, they play a certain style,” Jaylen Brown said after Sean asked what it is like to study a player’s rhythm.
“Luka (Doncic) has a unique rhythm. It’s almost so slow that it’s hard to time. Kyrie has a unique rhythm as well, very one of one. So his moves and high his cadences is sometimes is very, very hard to time. Like, he has a lot of countermoves,” mentioned JB.
“Like, he can go and pivot off both feet. He can shoot with both hands. He can drive both directions, which makes his rhythm a lot harder to track. Some guys only go right. Some guys only go left,” Brown further added. The Celtics posed an all-rounded threat last season.
