Following Tuesday’s heartwarming reunion with the Lakers in the Crypto.com Arena, Anthony Davis claimed that he has “moved on” from the shocking trade and is focused on building a new life in Dallas with his family. “Hey man, I’m past that. I’m ready to move forward with Dallas, try to get a championship there with these guys.” He told the Los Angeles Times. But in order to win a title, AD first needs to recover from his adductor injury and return to the lineup completely healthy. Turns out, he might be getting closer to that day as Jason Kidd provided latest update on the forward’s health.

When asked about Anthony Davis’s recovery process and overall demeanor, Kidd responded, “Yeah, I think his vibes, he’s a great dude. He’s doing extremely well. The energy is positive, he feels good.” Notably, AD has already started light shooting and weight room exercises, which is an encouraging sign.

Sure enough, Kidd remains optimistic about his return, “Haven’t really seen a lot of the court work but happy that he’s on the court, but just in conversation he says he feels great. So hopefully he’s trending in the right direction and we’ll find out here shortly how everything’s going.” Davis is scheduled to be reevaluated in the coming week. Of course, he is one of the most versatile bigs in the league when healthy, averaging 25.7 points and twelve rebounds this season.

Even in his Mavs debut, Anthony Davis wasted no time making an impact, dropping an impressive 26 points and 16 rebounds—a clear reminder of what he’s capable of. That was, of course, before his night was cut short by an unfortunate injury.

Now, his return couldn’t come at a better time. The Mavs are clinging to the ninth seed, just one win ahead of the Kings, and every game matters. And with PJ Washington also sidelined, Jason Kidd’s injury update on AD is a massive sigh of relief for Dallas. Their playoff push depends on getting their stars back on the floor.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Anthony Davis lead the Mavericks to a championship, or will injuries continue to hold him back?

Jason Kidd “Highly Concerned” as PJ Washington gets ruled out for tonight’s Hornets Clash

While Davis continues to make progress, Washington has made a late entry to the injury report. Turns out, the sprained right ankle that caused him to miss some games earlier this month is still bothering him. That’s why he will not suit up tonight against the Hornets. Revealing more details on PJ’s health ahead of the game, Kidd said, “The concern is high, coming off this road trip and coming back home and for his ankle. Hopefully, he can heal here quickly and is ready to go for Saturday, but unfortunately, he can’t go today.”

Well, PJ had a terrible outing in LA on Tuesday, as he missed all nine of his shot attempts and went scoreless. Sure, he got four crucial blocks, but it was clear that he was not his 100%, maybe because of his ankle. Of course, his absence tonight is a huge blow to the Mavs because he has been a key part of their rotation, averaging 14.2 points and over eight rebounds.

Moreover, this adds to the long list of injured stars for them, including Dereck Lively II, Daniel Gafford, and more. So, this update only increases the team’s concerns. PJ’s next chance to suit up will be on Saturday against the Bucks. But for tonight, Kidd’s squad will have to play extremely shorthanded. Do you think they can overcome this challenge and beat the Hornets?
