“I feel like in the summer we all put our heads down to work hard. We all wanted to be better, and then we had the coaching change and Kenny is one of the best coaches in the league and it’s showing,” is what Jarrett Allen had to say, after extending the Cleveland Cavaliers‘ perfect win record to double digits (10), after the win against the Warriors this season!
The hoopster has been in great form, just like the rest of the squad. Allen has gone four straight games with a double-double and has seven so far this season. His rebounds per game have increased, as he is now averaging 11.9 boards compared to 10.5 last season. These solid performances have also drawn appreciation from his Head Coach, Kenny Atkinson.
Atkinson said, “Jarrett Allen, like just on both ends right like he, he’s kind of dominating on both ends.” Complimenting the center’s dominance, he added, “He can guard any, like, Kade Cunningham, LeBron and we’re switching him on everybody and he’s just he’s just locking down,” explaining how effective Jarrett Allen has become defensively for this Cavs side.

Jarrett Allen arrived in Cleveland in 2021 from the Brooklyn Nets, and since then he has become an integral member of the squad. He’s now playing his 5th season for the Cavaliers and the expectations have skyrocketed after their record-breaking start to the season. Let’s also see how much the team’s starting center earns with his new deal and dive deeper into the financial side of the game.
How much does Jarrett Allen make? Looking into his 5-year deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers
Jarrett Allen, back in 2021, inked his first deal with the Cavaliers, worth $100 million over 5 years. This sees the 26-year-old earn $20 million every season, including the 2024-25 season. His contract still has another season left, the 2025-26 one, after which his veteran extension will kick in. Earlier this year, the Cavs and Allen agreed on a 3-year, $91 million max contract extension which guarantees him $131 million over the next five seasons!
This was done alongside two other key deals in the offseason, which were of Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley. Jarrett Allen’s new contract will start in the 2026-27 season and will run until 2029. Allen will earn $28 million in the first year, followed by $30.2 million, and finally $32.4 million for his final year of the extended contract.

After signing his multi-year contract with the Cavaliers in 2021, Jarrett Allen became the first player, since the introduction of the shot clock, to make 10 or more field goals without a miss in a season opener. Months later, the hoopster was named as a replacement for James Harden, the very player he got traded for a year prior, on Team LeBron in the 2022 NBA All-Star Game.
To date, it remains his only All-Star appearance, but that could soon change if the hoopster keeps up his impressive form. He was unlucky not to make it in 2024, but the next year could be his 2nd All-Star night if he and the Cavs keep rolling past teams with ease.
