The Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards, known for making waves on the court, is in the spotlight again. This time he is in the news for his unexpected love for the classic teen movie, and guess who else shares his passion? Knicks guard Jalen Brunson!

Remember Troy Bolton, the heartthrob from “High School Musical”? Well, so does Edwards! The second-time NBA All-Star revealed his love for the 2006 musical during All-Star Media Day when asked about the most ridiculous basketball scene he’d ever seen in a show or a movie. Turns out, Edwards isn’t alone in his love for the Wildcats. During the All-Star Media Day, Anthony Edwards proclaimed his love for the movie by stating, “I like ‘High School Musical’ for some reason. Troy Bolton,” referring to Zac Efron’s character. “I like the scenes. They put it together, it was pretty dope. Pretty dope. I like that movie.” When asked if he’d star in a remake, he didn’t hesitate to state, “I would. I actually would, for sure.”

For those unaware, the Timberwolves’ rising star already has an IMDb page, thanks to his occasional ventures into acting every now and then. He portrayed the antagonist Kermit Wilts in Adam Sandler’s 2022 basketball movie “Hustle“. Edwards has clearly been bitten by the acting bug, one may say!
