The three went down and the hand immediately came up covering the nose and mouth with three fingers pointing out. Well, this has become a regular sight for the Knicks fans as their beloved star Jalen Brunson uses it as a signature celebration whenever he knocks down a clutch three-pointer. And it looks like JB has already begun passing on this pizzazz to his newborn child. The hooper’s wife Ali shared a wholesome moment of the kid mimicking the beloved King of New York.
Ali shared an image of the newest member of the Brunson family, Jordyn James. But just like the previous posts, the child’s face was not revealed. Instead, the focus was on the baby’s hand which adorably had three fingers out, almost identical to Jalen’s signature celebration. So, it’s safe to say that the family’s basketball genes have passed on to the young kid, as seen in the latest Instagram story.
Well, the couple has been very private about their newborn child from the get-go and understandably so. Even their announcement on social media came nearly three weeks after Jordyn was born. And the child’s gender has also not been revealed by the Brunsons yet. Moreover, it looks like they do not wish to expose their child’s face to the world so soon as in the announcement posts, Jalen shared an image of the kid’s tiny hand while his wife shared the image of the baby’s feet.

However, it is great that the curious fans are getting brief insights about Jordyn as now everyone knows that the newborn is also a fan of Jalen’s celebration! Surely, some of you might now be wondering how Jalen Brunson came up with his celebration. Let’s dive in.
The origin of Jalen Brunson’s signature three-point celebration
“Don’t worry about it.” When Jalen was first asked about his new celebration after a game, he dodged the question with a quick response. But he later apologized for his reply and admitted that it might have come off as a bit arrogant. Curious about the origin story, many fans claimed that Brunson got the celebration from soccer star Paulo Dybala, who interestingly makes a similar gesture after scoring a goal with only his index finger and thumb pointing out.
However, JB later revealed the true story behind it, “It truly came out of nowhere and it truly has no meaning other than three points on the board. I just kind of stuck with it because it was unique and nobody was doing it.”

Have an interesting take?
Yes, the actual reason is far less anticlimactic than fans were hoping. Sure enough, Brunson even addressed the Dybala comparison, “I saw those comparisons and I’ve seen him do it, and actually played with [Dybala] on FIFA, but I never really tried to emulate that.” So, there you have it. Unlike what many speculated, Brunson only adopted the move for its uniqueness. But that does not make it any less iconic.
