Does Jalen Brunson's karaoke party show the Knicks have the best team spirit in the NBA?

With the quartet of the Villanova Boys finally reuniting in New York, it looks like no one is having more fun this off-season than the Knicks players. Be it podcast appearances, viral Facetime clips, or IG live, it seems like Jalen Brunson and Co. are everywhere. And they took over the internet once again as Brunson and Josh Hart planned a special musical night with each other in front of the whole world, even garnering the attention of Hollywood star Skylar Astin, leaving the fans buzzing.

Well, it all began with JB and Hart linking up on an IG live and planning to meet for dinner, as the two had not met in person in the last six weeks. Excited about the plan, Hart tried to lure Brunson into going to the club. But it turns out JB refused, saying, “No. I just wanna get dinner bro… Ain’t tryna do all that.”

Sure enough, Hart pitched another idea of going to the Karaoke instead as he spontaneously started singing a song mid-conversation. And an intrigued Brunson gave it a thought and said that it was possible, “Karaoke?… We might do some Karaoke.”

While the duo planned their karaoke party with thousands of viewers watching live, the conversation caught Skylar Astin’s attention, the star of the iconic Pitch Perfect musical movie franchise. “I will do karaoke with @jalenbrunson1 and @joshhart any day of the week. Just say when.” Soon after, Brunson agreed to the actor’s pitch and wrote, “Let’s do it.”

Born and raised in New York, Astin is a die-hard Knicks fan and has even proclaimed his admiration for Brunson on several occasions. Just recently, on The Rich Eisen Show, he had very high praise for the Knicks superstar, “He is so far above the top ten for me… Way too early to say this, but I think he is my favorite Knick of all time.” With that said, fans could not wait to see the two stars collaborate even if it was for one impromptu karaoke night.

NBA World excited about Jalen Brunson-Skylar Astin meetup

Does Jalen Brunson's karaoke party show the Knicks have the best team spirit in the NBA?

Have an interesting take?

Naturally, fans noticed the interaction between Brunson and the Pitch Perfect star and were instantly hyped about the possible linkup with one writing, “Pitch Mr. Perfect and The Roommates? F’N A Right!!!” Obviously referring to Brunson and Hart’s podcast and Astin’s incredible singing ability, fans could not wait to see the trio take on the microphone together.

Meanwhile, some Knicks fans even asked the celebs to save a spot for them at the party by sharing the iconic JR Smith quote from 2016 where he wished for LeBron James to save a spot for him if he ever creates another super team, “I’d like to see it. I just hope they save me a spot and I’m on the team.”

And one netizen just asked Brunson and Hart to turn into online streamers during the off-season, maybe because they anyway spend so much time sharing their lives on the internet. While they didn’t give us a live stream of what happened later that night, JB did post the video of him eventually meeting up with Hart and his wife post-dinner. Unfortunately, Astin was not accompanying the Knicks duo for the planned karaoke party.

Despite the failed link-up, one hopeful fan pitched Brunson and Hart to make a cameo in the fourth part of the Pitch Perfect movie if it’s ever made. While there have been no official announcements, the movie is rumored to be in the making and the Knicks stars could finally collab with Astin in that film.

While most fans were buzzing about the celebrity meetup, one scared fan thought Brunson’s tweet was about his pending contract extension. Entering the third year of his contract, he will become eligible to sign a four-year $156.5 million extension on Friday.

However, if Brunson waits another year to sign the extension, he could make $270 million on a five-year deal. But the Knicks faithful might not have to worry about losing their beloved star as Brunson is reportedly considering taking the massive pay cut and inking his extension with the Knicks this summer. And that will leave a possibility of a future collab with Astin as Brunson will continue staying in New York.
