Sports commentary is a difficult art form to master. Whether it’s Mike Breen’s iconic “Bang!” call or Kevin Harlan’s on-the-go one-liners like “LeBron James! With no regard for human life!” they play a huge role in immortalizing an iconic NBA moment in every fan’s mind. However, the same cannot be said for Reggie Miller’s skills on the mic. At least that’s what the hoop community believes as the Pacers legend’s Jalen Brunson prediction backfires during the All-Star Weekend!
Of course, everyone is aware of the storied rivalry between Reggie and the Knicks. From his choke sign to Spike Lee to his bow at the Madison Square Garden, their bad blood has produced some unforgettable moments. Even as a TNT analyst, Miller has always kept the rivalry alive, which was evident during last year’s playoff series between the two franchises, as Reggie announced his arrival in NYC saying, “Just know, the Boogeyman is coming back to town to call the game.”
That’s why everyone was shocked when Miller picked Brunson to win tonight’s Three-point Contest, “My guy that I’m going with is a surprise… Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks… my dark horse to win.”

One surprised netizen even wrote, “Reggie Miller picked Brunson!? What universe are we living in?” However, the prediction never came true as JB finished the first round with an underwhelming 18 points and got eliminated early.

The situation escalated when fans began getting fed up with Reggie’s live commentary during the contest. Well, Miller has been the voice of TNT for many years, having joined the network as an analyst in 2005. Of course, he was the greatest shooter of his generation and a Pacers legend, so everyone was keen to hear his unique outlook on the sport. That’s why Reggie soon bagged the role of a color commentator alongside legend Kevin Harlan. But as the Hall of Famer continues his media career, fans have started losing faith in his skills.
It became evident tonight as comments like “Reggie Miller making my ears bleed” and “I wanna know why Reggie Miller has a job damn it” began flooding in, criticizing the Pacers great. And the calls against him didn’t stop there!
NBA World calls out Reggie Miller’s Confusing commentary as Jalen Brunson gets trolled by his Knicks teammate
As the night progressed, the criticism escalated, as one netizen even posted a meme of legend Dikembe Mutombo in utter disbelief, writing, “Gotta listen to Reggie Miller all night.” If Reggie was a true legend as a player, why are fans against his commentary? Maybe, it’s because his words can be rather confusing at times as the Pacers legend often changes his stance while calling games. One fan pointed it out during the Three-Point contest, “Reggie Miller: Shooter 1 “Use your legs” Shooter 2 “don’t use legs so much” Shooter 3 “don’t need a lot of motion” Shooter 4 “need more movement.”

Frustrated by Miller’s antics, one fan was desperately looking for a unique feature on TNT’s All-Star broadcast: “TNT needs an option where you can mute Reggie Miller but still hear Kevin Harlan.” Of course, Harlan is one of the most beloved media personalities, and fans are always eager to hear his unique take. But his partnering with Reggie does not sit well with many viewers. Well, that will change soon as after the NBA’s current media deal is over, Miller will join NBC Sports as a color commentator while Harlan will reportedly join Amazon Prime Video.

While calls continued to mount against Reggie, his prediction, Jalen Brunson was also trolled for letting the analyst down. His own teammate, Josh Hart, tweeted after JB’s disappointing showing, “JB wants to turn into me on the last rack” with a facepalm emoji.
Like him or not, Reggie is a legend of the game and has been a part of this league for decades. So, you can expect him to be the voice of NBA games in the future as well. But that doesn’t mean you can’t put your opinions out there. So, what are your thoughts about his mic skills?
