Fighting for a spot in the Conference Finals while playing with two of his best friends for one of the most historic NBA franchises, the New York Knicks, Josh Hart is living the dream. With that, not only has his game on the court elevated to the next level but his hilarious personality is also coming to the forefront for the entire world to enjoy.

One of the most unusual things about Hart that recently came to light is his unconditional love for Mike and Ike. However, Hart, Jalen Brunson, and Donte DiVincenzo’s Villanova coach Jay Wright revealed that the Knicks star had a candy obsession since his college years.

Making an appearance on the Beyond The Arc podcast, Wright spilled the beans about the Knicks player with the worst diet during his Villanova days, which even led to the coach taking a drastic measure, “Oh Josh by far! I was taking candy out of his locker room before the start of a game… He eats Mike and Ikes right before games.”

Recently interrupting Jalen Brunson during a post-game presser by taking out a box of Mike and Ikes from his pocket while trying to control his laughter, Hart left the NBA World in splits. Then, reposting the video on his X account, Hart tweeted, “Hopefully one day I’ll get a deal with Mike and Ike and get my face on a box lol.”

The brand granted Hart’s wish by making custom boxes with his face on them, garnering a wholesome reaction from the Knicks star, “My dream has come true! @mikeandike big things coming.” Even Hart’s Villanova coach understood how big a moment it was for the Knicks star, “One of his proudest moments I just saw on social media is he held a Mike and Ikes box… probably got a sponsorship, which he’s probably as proud of that as winning an NBA series.”

Josh means business on the court

Although Wright revealed that Hart had the worst diet since his Villanova days, it doesn’t show with the way he performs on the court. Having already played four complete games in these playoffs without subbing out, including an overtime game against Philly in the previous series, Hart has truly turned into an ‘Iron Man’ for the Knicks franchise.

Not only that, Hart has been balling out in these playoffs, shooting nearly forty-four percent from deep and averaging an eighteen-point double-double in the last eight games. While his performance may seem surprising to the people who just started watching Hart play, his former coach claimed that he had that killer instinct in him since he was in college, and maybe long before that, “He wasn’t known as a three-point shooter but any big ones, he always hit. It was incredible!”

Reminiscing about an old game when Villanova was down five points against Purdue and Hart was just a freshman, Wright told how the youngster didn’t hesitate to pull up a deep three to bring the game within two, eventually leading Villanova to victory. And Hart has had a similar impact on the Knicks squad this year.

Shooting multiple clutch shots in crunch time, Hart has been one of the key reasons why the Knicks are just two wins away from reaching the Conference Finals. With this statement, Wright perfectly described Josh Hart’s impact, “He’s a unique dude. One of those guys you hate to play against and love to have on your team.” Hopefully, we will continue to see more of his love for Mike and Ikes as Hart pursues a Championship with his Villanova boys.
