Earlier this week, Barkley compared Zion?s situation to his own early-career experiences where he too was grappling with weight issues until a brutal wake-up call from Moses Malone set him straight.

Reflecting on those days Barkley in a no-nonsense approach said in an interview: “This is professional basketball… I don’t think it’s a lot to tell guys to get in shape.”

The Hall of Famer emphasized the importance of professional responsibility. “This is professional basketball, Kevin,” he said. “We’re not babysitters.”

Barkley emphasized that being surrounded by good and honest people mattered most.?

Barkley went further expressing concerns not only around Williamson?s future but also its impact on the Pelican franchise and NBA at large.

?It’s not fair to the Pelicans. It’s not fair to the NBA,? Barkley said. “His solution was straightforward ? he just got to get in shape, plain and simple.?

Chuck even suggested ways like hiring a personal chef given the kind of money NBA players make today which could help manage diet efficiently.
