The 2024 NBA Draft is upon us with a few more good nights of sleep away. Bronny James, who has been the hottest topic going into the event, is not diverting from the aforementioned path as he went out shoe hunting. His recent appearance on “Sneaker Shopping With Complex” highlighted his unique NIL privileges.
During a recent episode of Sneaker Shopping With Complex, Bronny James was the guest of honor. Alongside host Joe La Puma, Bronny scavenged LA’s SoleStage store to find the right match. While talking to the host about his memories of wearing his father’s signature shoes, Bronny answered a question about his experience of having PE (Player Edition) shoes. “When I got the ones with the six on the back, I was geeked. That was special for me. It felt like a signature shoe at that point,” said Bronny.
In reply, Puma recalled NFL legend, Deion Sanders’ quote, “Look good, play good.” Bronny agreed without hesitance and added, “It’s different. It’s a different feeling. It gets you hyped.” By the end of the episode, Bronny’s shopping amount stood at $10,172.55 and that surely wouldn’t hurt someone with a $3.2 million NIL value.

Having the Jr. James as a representative of the brand still remains a dream for many big-time companies. But the likes of Nike, Beats By Dre, and PSD Underwear have already secured his endorsement. These deals played a massive part in spiking Bronny’s NIL value to $7.2 million before his fateful cardiac arrest last year. Now, the focus shifts to the NBA Draft on Wednesday night at Barclays Center.
With the shoe selection out of the way, now the focus shifts to the NBA Draft on Wednesday night at Barclays Center. But before that, some interesting updates regarding Bronny’s draft future have emerged.
Bronny James Set for Draft to Lakers: NBA Insider
After impressing during the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago last month, Bronny’s demand increased quite a bit. With multiple suitors from the West, Bronny only had workouts with the Lakers and the Suns. But now, it seems his destination is just about confirmed. According to Michael Scotto, Bronny James is “entrenched” to be selected by the Lakers. Scotto, along with various league sources and 11 Mock Draft results, confirms that Bronny is destined to be picked at 55.
The report shows the Lakers picking Tristan da Silva with their 17th pick. There was interest from the Suns to land Bronny, but the Phoenix could be content with Marquette PG Tyler Kolek. Rich Paul previously mentioned that he’ll get the best deal for his client, and if Bronny indeed ends up with the Lakers, then it checks most of the boxes for the James family.

Firstly, Bronny will remain in the Lakers and his father might follow suit amid his uncertain future. Secondly and most importantly, LeBron’s lifelong dream of playing alongside his offspring will come to fruition. If that is not the story of the 2024 NBA Draft, then I don’t know what else is. This transition from his NIL privileges to his professional prospects underlines the significance of Bronny’s journey.
