James Harden might have calmed down for now, but Tyrese Maxey of the Sixers isn’t going to take any chances. The 22-year-old point guard has time and again proven his caliber. During the Ben Simmons issue and now with the Harden issue.

Though nothing is confirmed regarding Harden’s potential move, the Beard hasn’t exactly said he is happy in Philly either. As far as he’s concerned, the relationship is beyond repair. And if that’s the case, Maxey might need more of that secret sauce.

Talking to the hosts of ‘The Old Man and the Three’ podcast, Mad Maxey says how the life he led has made a deep impact on his outlook. “It’s crazy … I’m a happy person. I grew up with both my grandmothers in the house, so they never let me take, like a day for granted,” he says. “Every single day they wanted me to smile … it’s another day. God bless you with opportunity.”

Maxey’s grandmothers definitely brought him up the right way. When you come to think of it, wouldn’t you agree this an advice all of us can live by? The fact that you can get up in the morning, thinking nothing at all of it, when there are others who can’t even turn in their bed. Every day you wake up to is surely another opportunity to be productive.

Speaking of productivity would naturally give way to mentioning how valuable Tyrese has become to the Sixers.

How Tyrese Maxey’s presence in the 76ers is beneficial

So far, James Harden regularly attends training camps and goes as far as to talk and advise the younger players on the team. A move that has gotten the vote of approval from other members of the team, including Maxey. He’s stood solidly with Philly through the thick and thin.

If Harden’s trade happens, Maxey will once again have to don the Superman cape. Taking a look back at his 2022-23 season, he averaged 20.3 points and shot 40.3% from deep.

If we move farther back to the Simmons drama, Tyrese averaged 17.5 points on 48% from the field. This stunt proved to be a key aspect of the Sixers moving forward to the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The 76ers point guard is only 22 years old. There is still a lot of room for him to grow. We can imagine the kind of basketball player he will turn out to be. It is, after all, his ultimate aim.
