Shortly after being waived by the Sixers in 2022, Isaiah Joe joined OKC Thunder on a multi-year deal just shy of $6 million over three seasons. Years later, in July 2024, he inked a lucrative deal after his great performances in back-to-back seasons for Oklahoma City.
Joe’s new contract is a four-year deal worth $48 million. This deal includes a guaranteed $36.7 million, and an average salary of $12 million over the four seasons. The guard is set to earn close to $13 million for the 2024-25 season, after which he’ll earn $12.3 million the following season. He has a club option for the next 2027-28 season, which most likely will be executed by the OKC Thunder.

After which by the looks of the current deal, the hoopster will enter unrestricted free agency from the 2028-29 season. Additionally, over the past two seasons, Joe has been quite impactful, making over 100 appearances and averaging 8.4 points, while shooting just under 40% from beyond the arc, earning him this extension.

After completing high school, Isaiah Joe picked Arkansas, as the place where he wanted to play college ball. As a freshman, Joe had an impressive season averaging 13.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. Earning himself a place on the SEC All-Freshman team! Interestingly, he made 113 three-pointers out of 273, already breaking Arkansas’ record for most triples made in a season.

His sophomore season was a bigger success but with a minor setback. Joe averaged 16.9 points and 4.1 rebounds that season before suffering an injury. Following all this, he declared for the 2020 NBA Draft in hopes of making it to the biggest stage. Those were tricky times. The 2020 draft class had some big names alongside Joe, including none other than Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball.
With the 49th pick in the year’s draft, the Philadelphia 76ers selected Isaiah Joe. He then went on to play his first couple of years at Philly. Joe made his debut against the Cavaliers as he scored two points and had one rebound and one assist in a 118-94 loss. In his rookie season, Isaiah’s game time was pretty limited. He averaged just over 9 minutes in 41 games, racking up 3.7 points, .9 rebounds, and .5 assists. The shooting guard has come a long way since then as he continues his journey in the NBA with the OKC Thunder.
